I’m surprised I found this video boring, in terms of the questions. I always say everyone is a little bi. Also we are absolutely born with our sexuality. Now, coming to terms with it and other nurture factors can play a part to some varying degrees, but the science has been out there for years on animals and sexuality, it’s really interesting actually. But lots of people try to keep it quiet...for obvious reasons.

Ryan Haile

Actually, science says differently. It’s generally not a good idea to compare people to animals in studies of sexuality or society.

I don’t think you’re “born” with a specific sexuality. I do agree that everyone is kind of on a spectrum but I definitely think it’s possible to move around on that spectrum to an extent. That doesn’t in any way mean you control it, but I think that this idea that you’re born a certain way and that’s 100% what you are is false. It doesn’t make sense to me that you would be born on a super specific point on the spectrum. I myself have moved around quite a bit and will literally on some days feel more or less attracted to a gender, in the same way that I can on some days be more in the mood for sex than other days, I can be more in the mood for men and/or women specifically. This got very personal lol, but I think that the way we tend to think of sexuality as something super binary comes from our desire to categorize people when really, it doesn’t fkn matter lmao. Generally, science leans towards the idea that we aren’t born with a specific sexuality, but that doesn’t at all mean that we can control it. Many respond to that idea with the fact that if gay people could control it they would choose to be straight, but that’s not the same thing. Just because your sexuality isn’t something that you’re born with or because it’s subject to change, doesn’t mean that you as a person can influence it. I do think that we’re born with a certain predisposition to certain parts of the spectrum, and that “part” varies in size for different people. But I think that in general sexuality is a lot more fluid than people think.

Yeah I don't think I agree that we're born gay or straight. I don't think it's a choice either though... I believe we just naturally develop attractions due to our environment, experiences, conditioning, personal preferences, societal influences, social circles, etc. I think there's so much that goes into it but I wouldn't say it's a choice, it just seems to be something that naturally occurs due to a person's individual life experience. But just my opinion, who knows

the one guy who was talking about gay means being more sensitive and not liking sports i’m sorry but i wish we could learn the difference between gender and sexuality all being gay means is liking the same sex that’s it the other stuff he was talking about are feminine ideologies that some gay men inhibit yes but liking men doesn’t equal being feminine

Rahneian Madsgs

Not all women are feminine, so that's not even "gender" if that's what you're talking about. Gay men do exhibit higher emotional intelligence and more likely to be cooperative compared to their straight male counterparts, so he wasn't exactly wrong.

@rabnod i didn’t say all women are feminine. I said what he was listing off were feminine traits, society associates being emotional or not liking sports with women, that doesn’t mean that all women have those traits but gender is a societal concept.

Rahneian Madsgs

Disliking sports and being emotional is not "gender." I don't know what you think that word means, but that's not it. At best, you can say those are gendered stereotypes say like how liking fried chicken is a racial stereotype. That doesn't make liking fried chicken "race" likewise disliking sports is not "gender"

i never said that it was a gender ??? i said that those are traits of femininity b/c that’s what society associates with girls. i didn’t say that’s what being a girl is?
