Man, as an Arab I relate to your comments at the end so, so much lmao. I used to be super 'pro Arab'. Always feeling proud and defensive about something I have no control over. But yeah, shifted to not caring anymore and to stop primarily defining myself as an Arab. I'm Amir and my achievements speak for myself. I've found that it's a waste of energy to get worked up over these things and to just focus on the things that are in my control. Also, the possibly racist opinions of others isn't going to change if I somehow convince them that I'm not lesser. Just like a bully, why tf do I care about this guy's opinion? I understand that it was inevitable though - what with oppression and all so I agree that it's a complex reactionary response that's completely understandable.

I get what Norm is saying but regardless the subject is completely out of his purview. He has clocked in exactly zero hours as any other race, gender or sexual orientation.
