Howdy, folks! ToTellStories here to pretend that Thurston is still alive. (He is! I swear! He’s just really busy with conventions, and work, and maintaining his sanity, and OH GOD THANK GOODNESS WE’RE GOING ON VACATION SOON.)

Here’s a new release from Thurston talking all about the Rook, the deity of the First House dedicated to buildings, fortifications, and other architectural marvels. It takes a lot to build a kingdom, including… buildings! Personally, I absolutely love that we have a god dedicated to architecture. I also really love the illustration that @s-elliot-illu did for the Rook’s Pilaster, and I’m glad we get to use it again. The Rook’s Pilaster is all about structure and grids, and she really nailed it in this one. It’s also a pilaster more prone to new construction, though it’s less experimental than the kinds of new builds you’d find in the King’s or Prince’s Pilaster districts.

A quick note on why alignment isn’t a thing anymore, as yelled by Thurston from across the house: “Alignment is dumb.”

Now, please ignore the smell coming from the basement. It’s just… laundry. Yeah, laundry.
