Narrative Declaration Update - May 2023 (Patreon)

Greetings, Benefactors!

It's ZoranTheBear here with another monthly update.

Convention season is upon us!

Some of us will be attending several conventions this year, and we wanted to give you all a heads-up about them as they will impact our streaming schedule a bit. So far, this is the schedule:

PaizoCon Online (May 26th - 29th) - OnCallGM will be around for several streams during Paizo Con, talking about all things Starfinder! Rotgrind will NOT be canceled that weekend, so we should still be live during Paizo's convention. For clarification, Narrative Declaration itself has no involvement with Paizo Con.

Offkai Expo! (June 16th - 18th) - ZoranTheBear (that's me!) will be there physically to work at the convention for a few panels and shows but will mostly be walking around the convention floor saying hi to everyone. So if you're around, feel free to follow ZoranTheBear on Twitter for a chance to say hi (if I'm not being dragged around too much).

GenCon (August 3-6) - ZoranTheBear & OnCallGM have an 80% chance of being there! GenCon is one of the biggest TTRPG/Tabletop gaming shows, and Paizo/Pathfinder 2E usually has a significant presence there. We will likely be there physically. Thurston will be on the Paizo side of things, while Zoran will be there as a normal dude walking around. PLEASE DON'T BUY ANY TICKETS AND STUFF JUST TO SEE US! As there is still a small chance we won't be there. Once we're 100% locked in and going, we will let you all know!

TwitchCon (October 20-22) - ZoranTheBear will be at TwitchCon walking the floor! If you happen to make your way to Las Vegas and spot Zoran's tall ogre ass, be sure to say hi! Probably wearing a Zoran hoodie.

If any adjustments happen, we will let you know!

Starfinder Campaign Update

Work is progressing on this front. Right now, we’re looking at dipping our toes into Starfinder with some of the gang to see how people enjoy the game. The current plan is to have the Rotgrind players create some fun Starfinder Characters and run through the pre-made Starfinder Adventure, Junker’s Delight with Thurston GMing.

This is a chance for us to test the waters with the game system and setting. We’ll see how it goes and then talk about more content once we get it launched. For now, get prepped for our next adventure… in SPAAAAAAAAAACE!

We apologize for the shift of direction from the last update. Things are constantly developing on our end.

The West March Rotgrind Campaign, the "Delving Marches," will soon be looking for volunteers.

For those who caught our update in April, we plan to do a community-wide Pathfinder Second Edition campaign in our community Discord. You can read up on it a bit here.

For an update on this, we're currently looking for volunteers to help run things - such as lore masters, helpful game masters, record keepers, and all sorts of folks willing to help with the organization of the entire project. As we want this to be a community-run thing, instead of one overly stressed bear and an on-call GM doing it all :P

We’ll be posting application forms in the coming months, and we're aiming to get people to work on the West March-style campaign sometime after Gen Con. No promises on a specific date yet, but our current aim is late August for volunteers to be able to start on their own scheming. Documentation is already underway from OnCallGM, and he’s building up tools for GMs to step in and create their own content for use with this campaign. We’ll be sharing those with volunteers after the call goes out and we get our star roster assembled.

One thing that OnCallGM and I want to stress about this project and the first wave of this is that it will be handled like a playtest. Meaning things will be messed up, mistakes will be made, systems built, etc. So, if you want to be someone who works with us to make something cool with the community and play some Pathfinder Second Edition, we encourage those interested to try game mastering games in the discord in the tabletop section and make some friends in the meantime!
