Deities - The Prince - Lore PDF (Patreon)

OK, for real this time.

This is the first actually real deity article, providing details on the various deities that affect the world of Tyne. In this series of articles, we’ll be looking at deities from the Old Powers to the Fundamentals, as well as the mysterious beings known only as the Entities. For today, however, we’ll be starting off with the most widespread faith on the continent of Pridoma, the mortal-ascended gods of the First House.

Where better to start than with the last of the deities to ascend: the Prince who followed in the footsteps of the other eight. After the gods of the First House ascended, they left the continent of Pridoma and their wider empire in unbridled chaos, which would lead to a shattering of their former empire and the formation of the lands now known as the Inheritor Lands—disparate countries that struggle against one another to try to claim the mantle of rulership that once belonged to the empire of the First House.

The Prince is the child of the King, though his birth meant he was stranded as a demi-mortal on Tyne while his father reigned from the stars. So, the Prince sought to reconquer the lands of the First House, though soon fell into a state of ennui at repeating the same path as his forebear. Instead, the Prince set out and conquered the city of Outset by toppling the city’s then-current dictator (a certain Beneficite who has had some mentions in the Rotgrind campaign). Following this, the Prince became Outset’s greatest ruler, and eventually was recognized by his father enough to ascend and join the rest of the First House.

If you’re looking for a deity who rewards those who strive to take what they want and constantly better themselves, the Prince is for you!
