Next episode of the Nizi project I want to know who you think made the group because we are half way done.

Anonymous

You don’t remember it but you already heard jyp’s “swing baby”. It was the second song momo, chaeyong and jiwon sang on sixteen (the song momo was eliminated on)

Anonymous

Sometimes... if you give up to make him remember those things, it will give you more peaceful life... If there is no Mina, he cannot remember. He was impressed by 'JYP NATION' lights of building one day when he reacted to Seize the Light. The next week, he got impressed by same thing by that again. Fact is he saw that light a lot before. Just let him does same reaction again then just think 'Yes... that's our man'... Have a peaceful life...

Puppy

Here is the original "Swing Baby" by JYP himself. Super impressive. https://youtu.be/1VW4O_LlV0k?t=2556

Puppy

You can do this on Throwback Thursday. This stage was on 2001 😂

Anonymous

Swing Baby's audio was not messed up! There's tap feet in there because it's a tap dancing song! Also, you might remember this, you might not - but in 15+1 Momo, Chaeyoung & Jiwon performed Swing Baby to save themselves in the vs battle!

Puppy

NiziU official Youtube has better subs, but they cut performances into pieces so you missed many parts of the performances. Let'sKCulture has full shows but the subs are shit...

You definitely are getting better at judging the performances. I agree with you about Riku. She killed it! That's my bias! There are 10 episodes for Nizi Project season two. So you are halfway there G 🤙🏾

Theysandor

I'll take full performance over "slighty wrong but perfectly undestandable with context" subs any day. I'm not a native english speaker so i'm surely not bothered by the awful grammar as mush as you guyz (as you can probably see in this comment XD), but still... the performance on ep 1 and 2 were butchered so much it hurts... I'll suggest you keep reacting to this channel :)

Chewwwy

I think we can still use KCulture since the better one is the NiziU site, but they will most likely be very short and less detailed. Momoka was 12th place last episode and went down again. Her name is Hirai Momoka( while TWICE'S Momo is Hirai Momo) that made it easier for me to remember her.

Chewwwy

Please guess the top9 to get the cube as well on their next performance.

Bruh, Riku literally ranked #4 (out of 26) in vocals at camp (without training!). Is one of the only few girls who completed all 4 cubes during camp. Ranked #3 on the first mission with Who’s Your Mama (stable af, she killed them high notes. And the fact that the other 3 who got the cube, Miihi, Mako and Maya, were all JYP/YG trainees says a lot.) and you had no single clue that she can sing well until now? @.@ I guess it’s understandable since she barely had screen time in part 1 (even though she ranked high in ALL her evaluations) but I would’ve expected you to at least have an ‘inkling’ that she can sing after her Who’s Your Mama since that stage put her in everyone’s radar... Oh well anyways... looking forward to the following episodes! Thanks for the reactions ^^

Kyle Twitch

I mean who's your mama is different than Jihyo's high note in heart shaker in my mind haha but yes Riku is very talented and is one of my favorites of this show!

Puppy

She's the one I first remember lol. Literally Momo + ka

Anonymous

Full performances over better subs for sure. Unfortunately there aren't any places to get both and for free so yea. Great reactions bro! Keep it up! Next episode is where i found my bias! XD

Puppy

Totally agree about Miihi's screen time. She's so cute and they know it lol. I was drawn to this show because I saw her puffy cheeks in season 1. Also first drawn to TWICE by Dahyun's bunny scene in TT. Then Momo became my bias because of the duck costume (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/643311128004782999/). Puffy cheeks got me every time 😂.

Riku has an amazing voice and I guess this was the first performance where she showed her vocal talent while in her individual performance she shocked JYP with her almost flawless dance talent. I really like her. The problem for me was the positioning of each member. It's hard to find a balanced position after each part of the choreo without marks at the floor, but 3 members shouldn't be a problem - it's getting harder with more members so this was a minus for me. And since this was a test for teamwork I'd give it a 7/10. I feel sorry for Riku because she really tried to nail it as a group, but in the end it was a total mess. Yuna disappointed me the most. For the evaluation of team Mako I have to be careful... I'm such a big Maya fanboy that I love everything she does. But the rhythm of the song is so difficult that the bass player in me wants to criticize all of them. They don't pay attention to the underlying pulse and accentuated notes (2 and 4) during the vocal training but sensei gives good advices and I'm thankful that she points that out. The rhythm probably makes the choreo as difficult but I'm not a dancer so I don't want to judge them. It probably doesn't even matter that they change the choreo, or does it? I don't know... I like the new performance and it was probably a good decision. However... Maya's facial expressions are on a different level! I know that she lacks experience but I can't help but feel happy when I see her on stage owning the mood of the song. It's so satisfying... The moment the song began I was like: "yep... that's a 10" and I was so happy when JYP mentioned the perfect sync of them putting on the jackets. Mako and Maya are so amazing but more importantly - Rio surprised me in a very positive way. So yeah... 10/10 although there were 1-2 issues. First of all they rushed the "swing, swing, swing my baby..." part. But they also accentuated some words in a weird way. But this song was in Korean and they're Japanese so I just can't take away a point for that. Let's talk about the breathing for a second. If you sing in a different language you simply have to learn when it is natural to take a breath. And it's even more difficult when you switch between languages in a single song. In Korean and Japanese you usually breath after the so called "particles" that come after a word. They are used to it because both languages are almost identical grammar-wise. But there are minor differences like adverbs and some post positions. Rio did a great job in that aspect. I really appreciate the fact that they learn the language while preparing for these stages. JYP knows that very well so he complimented her. By the way... I really don't like these subs. It's not just the sentence structure that's weird but the translation is wrong way too often. "regretful"...

Kyle Twitch

We pretty much had the same views then! and what do you think we should do about the subs then? I don't want to miss any of the performance...so if you have a suggestion i'm all ears

Wayne W

You're judging has been on point and I think you're ready for a guest judge spot on the next JYP survival show. :) Oh and that tall building is the Lotte World Tower in Seoul and is the 6th tallest building in the world.

dnguyen087

Heart shaker is one of my fav songs from Twice, the choreo is so cute. I ruined the song myself for watching a YouTube video repeating the Sana lyric lol but it’s 이상하게. Which romanized is isanghage, this has helped me block out the ruined version of the song lol google translate says it means wonderfully 🤷🏻‍♂️

Swing Baby stage in my opinion is the best stage on this season only behind Mihii's Nobody stage.

Anonymous

Finally Maya getting the recognition she deserves (and her solo perf was definitely worth more than 7.5 rating haha). Anyway who was in charge of assigning members to each groups. Mr Mat Unnies are a stacked group, and having them compete against Riku’s team is kinda unfair. Riku did great herself though.

Anonymous

Heart Shaker is best when it's sung by 18 girls.

Anonymous

I love Riku's complete disbelief at her ranking lolol

Anonymous

Ahhh heart shaker, did you see the comments when that came on during the concert? Lol By the way, every time a girl started to cry at the end I looked at your face and it was devastated every time lol.

Carl Dungca

Heart Maker (Riku, Momoka, Yuna) – Heart Shaker • Vocal – 7 Tale of two halves: First half: Yuna’s lacking energy, and when the group tries to compensate, they go a bit sharp and fall out of harmony. Riku putting too much energy into the singing, and it turns shouty instead of nicely rounded. Momoka has mostly good tone, but gets pitchy at the end of phrases. Second half: The group falls in line with each other, get their breathing sorted out, and the vocal blend comes together. • Dance – 9 Looks like they hit everything they needed to, with the right speed and energy. Nothing obvious to nit-pick, but the camera angles sure didn’t help when they zoomed in on the center and cropped out the other two during important level changes in the choreo. • Face – 9 Riku and Momoka gave good face, as usual. Yuna had a great moment during the longing bridge section. • Group Interaction – 9 Spacing seemed pretty good. This song has the iconic Sana hug portions, and we got what looked like sincere eye contact between Riku and Yuna in the the 2-person hug. Didn’t get a great look at it in the live performance, but in the practice, it seemed like their lines in the “prancing” section lined up perfectly well.

Carl Dungca

Riku was pretty anonymous to me during season 1, but she really makes herself known in season 2. She's like a blend of my 2 Twice faves: Strong, rounded vocals of Jeongyeon and chubby-cheeked smiling-eyed face of Sana.

Carl Dungca

Replay during JYP's judging shows Momoka out of synch during the prancing. Deduct a point from my Dance score (9-->8).

Carl Dungca

I dunno. Maybe a good compromise would be to watch the good official JYP subs and just switch over to Let's K-Culture (or another source with just the clip of the full performance) for the uncut performance segment.

Carl Dungca

Mr. Mat-Unnies (Mako, Rio, Maya) – Swing Baby • Vocal – 9 Good riding of the rhythm. You also get that breath-y singing style that JYP is so fond of. Rio’s voice isn’t as round as the other two’s, but you can definitely notice the improvement in tone and confidence. Generally great that there didn’t sound like any loss in stamina, especially given the difficulty of their choreo. • Dance – 9 (rounded up from 8 due to higher level of technique required) Good demonstration of balance and body control with the flicks and holds, but the girls’ lines were often inconsistent between them. Definitely extra points for the difficulty of the dance, though. A little disappointed they didn’t actually do a tap section, given the dance capabilities of this particular group and considering that Seaside Fairies did do the one from the DTNA choreo. • Face – 10 Just like Brock in Pokemon (or the Brock-looking cartoon JYP in Twice's "Candy Pop" video), we usually see Maya with eternally shut eyes, but she comes alive during performances. Here, I think she overdoes her pulling of faces at times here, but it does align with needing to do broader emoting to reach out farther from cabaret-style stage performance. Mako sells good sass, too. • Group Interaction – 10 Good job passing off between centers and supporting them. And even in the background, Maya’s facials do a good job reacting to the other group members, and directing the audience to respond, too. Though opening skits can often fall flat, I think this one was done well, and helped provide a light story framing. The contrasting blocking of the girls starting at opposite ends of the stage and then coming together at center contributes to the image of being in a group. Generally good use of the bigger stage, rather than staying always clustered in the center. Final flourish of Mako sending Maya and Rio into spins shows good awareness of creating group dynamics.

Carl Dungca

I know this really isn't how it happened, but it feels cosmically "right" that the stars realigned, and Maya went from YG to JYP, and Somi went from JYP to YG. The performers' characters feel more at home with their new agencies.

Carl Dungca

Mako knows she's top dog and is confident in her ability, which allows her to be graceful even when not given THE #1 spot. I think I only remember one upcoming segment this season where the competitive fangs really come out, but otherwise she's such a supportive and humble girl, putting the group and others as the priority over herself.

Carl Dungca

Regarding trying to close out the series faster, there are 5 remaining episodes and a pretty natural way to group things, if you want to accelerate your viewing. * Episode 6 is the "fun in the sun" team-building game outing and can be standalone, unless you want to wrangle in the first 15-ish minutes of Episode 7, too. * Episodes 7 and 8 are more group performances, mixing up the line-ups again from this past round. They're still doing covers of other artists' songs. * Episodes 9 and 10 are group performances and the final group selection. Similar to Sixteen, they are given totally new songs to perform. First Team A and B have their own individual songs, then Team A and B have to sing the same song to allow for direct comparison. Prepare a tissue box, because I swear half the runtime of these episodes involve crying.

Many people think Twice choreo is "easy" and "simple." Then when you actually have to do it you realize just how amazingly talented and in-sync Twice really are and that you have to be EXCEPTIONAL dancers to pull it off and make it look easy like they do. I havent' seen the part of the vid where Riku's team does Heart Shaker yet but my fingers are crossed! I hope they do well :)

Anonymous

To be honest during RIku's teams performance I was expecting them to double to six people magically. Also for our scoring it's kinda funny I said "..7.8" the same time you said "8.7" So I guess we're flipped on it. (Riku hit a 9 for me but it's a team thing)

JYP's Swing reminds me of Taco Putting on the RItz a bit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OUnedMCCW0 ALSO 9.0 for Swing.

Anonymous

Maya was at YG?? Yeah I definitely don't get a YG vibe from her vocals or her attitude. I love YG artists like Somi and Blackpink but Maya absolutely fits JYP style more.

JANVIÉR

Nah nah.. keep kculture subs cuz full episodes > cut performances (I hated how the official Nizi channel cut the songs I’m vibing to!) The subs are not THAT bad, some slight grammatical errors but it’s not that hard to understand - you can pretty much get the gist of the translations.

JANVIÉR

Ps. From this episode onwards, I’ve already picked my bias & wreckers regardless whether they made it to the final group.

JANVIÉR

Unnie line for bias (Rio/Maya) then wrecking hardest by Mako/Nina

Anonymous

i find it so sad that riku was put in that team :(( jyp did her so dirty putting a 3rd place with two low scoring contestants. She has so much vocal potential that could have done much better in one of the other groups hhh.

glassy99

First time I'm actually watching the KCulture version of this. The subtitles are regretful but it is a great level-up for watching the performances compared to JYP version. It is regretful that my mind is so complicated after reading the subs but I can understand it one by one by my endeavor. There is much pleasure in my mind seeing the full stage that the trainees endeavored to present. For me, there is nothing regretful at all in watching your reactions. I do hope you used the better subs for the final episode though, cause what JYP and the members say during the final episode won't make sense with these subs and the impact would be lessened a lot. I've actually seen the KCulture subs for that episode .. and they are ... regretful.

glassy99

Mako's team performance is another 10/10 performance for me. So many amazing performances in this show. Riku's team gets a 7 from me .. but Riku did do very well.
