oh heck yes!!! these characters are like FAMILY to me. that may be a bit sad, but this show and bones were such huge happinesses for me in high school. i distinctly remember if i was having a tough week my mom would say "just a few more days until bones wednesday" or "hold on for criminal minds thursday" lol but having these shows and these characters to look forward to really helped. i adore this show so much. the cases can be a bit too much for me but the cast is just done so incredibly well. i have an aunt who can't stand violent shows or things like this but she loves CM so much because of the lead cast as well. it's just done really well.

Man, this show just excels expectations the longer it goes. It has NO dips for me. Most shows that run this long have dud seasons... but nope, Criminal minds hits every single season. I LOVE this show. It's so much more than a procedural. It's a psychological rollercoaster, and the characters are top tier.

If I remember rightly, the poster on IMDB for criminal minds is the one for the revival, not for the series as a whole so I wouldn't base anything off a revival 16 years after the first season lmao. Also if you're ever interested in checking out Law&Order, I would recommend SVU over ANY of the other ones.

One of my all time favourite shows! This show got me into Forensic Psychology when I was quite literally 9 years old (not sure why my mom had me watching this at 9 but it definitely changed my life). Long shows are a huge commitment and I agree that writers get lost when the show just continues on and on but Criminal Minds never had that issue. You learn more about the characters throughout the show but I think its extremely interesting that the focus is more on the thought process of the criminal because other crime procedurals don't necessarily do that.

The great thing about this show is that each season has their individual cases but also an overarching case that weaves in and out of the storylines. Which in turn gets us a closer look into each person on the team personal lives and the cost of doing this job. The show will continue to get darker and honestly is one step removed from psychological horror.

I think there are a couple of things at play here… people love a ~ specialty ~ procedural. So, yes, this is a very dark show with subject matter related to serial killers, in particular, as well as other serialized crimes, (but mostly serial killers). To my knowledge, there wasn’t another show at the time that focused on serial killers, especially doing one by episode. It also introduced people to the Behavioral Analysis Unit and “profiling,” which is a super interesting thing in itself. Finally, the cast of criminal minds is just lovable. I really was interested in the crime each week, but the reason why it continued for so many seasons is because of the characters they’ve created and the relationships they have with one another. I can say, for sure, that that is one of this show’s strengths.

i do want to say about the whole poll thing that if u do choose this show it is very dark and for me i binged it so it’ll be different for u but sometimes i honestly need a break from the topics. i love this show but with most long shows u do have a lot of characters leaving throughout it and idk how to feel about later seasons. even after this season u won’t have this entire group back. i do also want to say i think u should start greys anatomy after u finish house. that show is like at 20 seasons by now and is the same situation as criminal minds with people leaving. if u look at the vampire diaries it’s mostly centered around the same group of characters u have a lot in and out but i dont feel like u really lose the main characters with greys and this show bc of the kinds of shows they are you’ll have so many new characters and ppl leaving a lot so i would think about that before deciding on a long show to commit to. jane the virgins pilot is great but i honestly struggled getting through that show. it’s good but slow. heartstopper and high school musical are super easy shows to get through and u can start one and do the other and knock the out pretty quickly. with degrassi it’s school so there are different groups and one group graduates but the ogs stay for mannnny season’s probably longer than the others. and like i said before doing just the degrassi pilot wouldn’t really work the first 2 episodes of the show are part 1 and 2 so the pilot is just part 1. the cool thing about the show is u grow up with the ogs. i wouldn’t do the degrassi pilot unless u know ur going to commit to it. if u like any teen or disney shows or glee i really do believe u would it. also if ur not good w dark topics like there are in this show or some images then idk if i’d commit to it.

I think the first few seasons of this show are great, but like others say it is a very dark show. The first seasons are more based on real killers and I think more psyological. The later seasons get more gory and a little more disturbing in that sense. This is defenitly a day-time show for me though, and not something you would want to watch at night, beofre going to bed as you wouldn't want to have weird dreams. 😝

Also forgot to add that another reason this show is so different is because the cases are based off actual BAU cases and there were ex profilers to help with the writing to give the show a little more realism when it comes to hunting and getting into the minds of serial killers. Which I think is what gives it that dark ominous feeling.

also why this show is so different and so loved is because everything at the time and still is "bad guy does bad thing and we're going to find out who" criminal minds is "bad guy does bad thing and we're going to figure out who and also why and we are going to do so by being a team and utilizing everyone's unique skill" i don't want to use the term empathetic because it's clear these unsubs are horrible horrible people but there is a different approach to things in criminal minds that other shows don't have. it explores humanity in a way procedural crime shows just don't. the humanity of the team working on the case, the humanity of the victims, the humanity of even yes, the unsub. it's such a unique way of doing things and i think at the heart of this show, as dark and scary as it can be, is ultimately humanity

I don't want to be the party pooper, but i watched the reactions to Criminal Minds and Money Heist (not having seen either prior) and I have to say, Steven didn't react very much ;) And I don't blame him. Both pilots are rather intense and you have to get a lot of information. Maybe it gets easier as the shows progress, but good luck getting a YT cut out of these reactions, esp. Money Heist. Maybe one wants to factor that into the decision.😝
