It was confirmation for us cuz back at the end of season 5, when Chuck disappeared, he was all dressed in white then he literally just faded away, smiling. It's not like something took him. He faded away. Disappeared right in front of us. Wearing all white. That was sort of our GASP CHUCK IS NOT JUST CHUCK IS HE??? moment. Then I think you might have missed it in season 10's musical episode, Fan Fiction, but right at the end, the girl who wrote the Supernatural play was told that the author of the story came to see her. It was Chuck and the way their convo went down, it was pretty clear that Chuck was The Author aka God Himself. So, yeah, it wasn't a big reveal for us, just a confirmation and a progression of the story of Chuck aka God.
