Yeah, in episode 6 nathan told Lucas that when he was in little league Dan grabbed him by his arms and kicked him in the ass as hard as he could.

The problem is that people put Luke on a pedestal. I've mentioned it in a few other posts but I think that was more evident here. The writing has been very clear since the beginning. He's been the "good brother" all along. Multiple people, Mouth, Brooke, Haley has sung Luke's praises, constantly calling him a good guy. I do think he is a good person, and I think he cares deeply about the people he loves and I do believe he always tries to do what's right. But, the story of this season to me has been knocking Lucas off of this pedestal. He is just a guy and he made some awful mistakes in this season. I honestly don't count him sleeping with Nicki as one of those mistakes, but understand how that hurt Peyton deeply. Although Peyton already knew that he at least left with a girl at a bar and presumably slept with her. I guess it just being Nicki made it worse. But yeah, we all expected more from Lucas and we should continue to expect a lot of him, but the whole good guy persona that was foisted upon him, wasn't really helping anyone, Lucas especially. Luke has always been one for self-improvement though, so I believe that he will find his way back. Also, there is no way that Lucas was as bad as Nate was. Nate was emotionally abusive towards Peyton, cheated on her constantly, was reckless, cruel and knew nothing of consequences. He was also a full-on bully. There is no way that anything Luke has done this season is comparable to that.

like the other commentor mentioned, we have heard that dan can be physical with nathan. my heart goes out thinking of little nathan calling his mom and her just ignoring his calls. the way lucas told haley to go get an officer, i think they all kind of knew in that moment, things could go south real quick. i don't think dan has ever gotten physical with nathan recently though - he seems like the type of coward that would bully him as a little kid but once he got older, became too scared to try. but in that moment, you could just tell and i loved seeing both lucas and haley step in and kind of get between the two of them, protecting nathan in that moment. i love hearing y'all's perdictions lol you're going to be so blown away by what's to come and it's going to be so, so fun to watch along with you! i loved the scene with brooke and peyton. they're both just so tired - tired of the drama, tired of the fighting. i loved when brooke tried to step in and get nicki to chill and leave peyton alone. it showed that inspite all the hurt she feels, she still didn't want peyton to get hurt by nicki. nicki is just such a mess. that evil little smile she does like she's having the time of her life causing a mess and hurting so many people just sickens me so much. i love how brian is out here trying to humanize her and tap into finding out what's wrong with her to make her act like this. i think that's actually really sweet! anyway, it's going to be a wild upcoming episodes and i cannot wait to watch them with you!
