Maddie saying she couldn't say the words "I love you" she actually said that they'd become a response to immediate threat with Doug, which is just another added detail here that I hadn't noticed until recently. So it wasn't just the weirdness of her saying it after saying she couldn't that alerted Chim to there being something wrong, it was also that it was her response to danger. Everyone at Dispatch did great this episode! I love Sue, Josh and Linda so much, and am always happy to see more of them!! And it's always great to see them being amazing at their jobs and figuring things out themselves. They were all amazing!! Buck speeding past Athena right after she said she was there to make sure Chim didn't do anything foolish and her immediately knowing exactly who it was. Then his "Okay, now don't be mad." I love them! 🤣😭 They should know better than to leave Buck out of things when his sister is in danger... I also really like Sue saying to Buck that she's surprised he's not with Maddie and his response being that she already has everything she needs. Despite his immediate reaction to realising there was something between them being that he was kinda weirded out, he has always been Maddie and Chimney's biggest supporter and I love that! It's just such a relief to have that in a show. A character who's friend gets with their sister and there's no overprotectiveness or belief that they're not good enough for his sister or threats or continued weirdness, or even anger that their sister is "taking their friend away". Just support and happiness for them.
