I Am Not Chamari

Sydney has never done anything wrong in her entire life actually lol jk But on a serious note, Sydney’s mistake obviously directly caused the influx of to-go orders that the restaurant simply couldn’t handle. But Sydney does not control the vibe or atmosphere or culture of the restaurant. Carmy does. Sydney clearly tells Carmy that she doesn’t think they’re on the same page and would like to check in. Carmy says we’re good, although they’re clearly not good. Carmy approved Sydney’s to-go orders and really should have been overseeing the launch of it, but he left it all to Sydney, which in my opinion, was irresponsible of him. And when it comes to Richie, I completely understand why Syd let it all build it up to her. Richie has been uniquely terrible to her, and half of the shit he says to her is rooted deep in misogynoir. Just this episode he literally asks if she was blowing someone because they said positive things about her food. Sydney being mean to Richie didn’t phase me at all because of all the shit he’s given her since she started working here. No, she didn’t say corner and threatened to stab Richie, but she was already irritated with him and also he got directly in her face. Even Carmy said that Richie probably deserved being stabbed and Richie even agreed with him. Getting back to the Carmy of it all, he was simply acting like a little shit. His behavior and conduct directly affects others, so him being a horrible, unruly, borderline abusive boss is what made him suck this episode. The expectation for people to continue to work in that environment is hilarious. I would have left too because no one is going to scream at me like that. I think less people than we think would tolerate that mess. Syd was basically saying the way you run your business is not her fault. And even when the to-go orders were running, he was still referencing her dish not being ready, which had nothing to do with the issue at hand. At the end of the day, he choose to approve it, when, instead he could have just literally explained to her why they’re not ready and actually given her time to talk through it, like he couldn’t bother doing at the top of this episode. One thing I agree about is the Marcus donut situation. I do think Marcus is either on the spectrum/has ADHD or both, because he was still able to make a magnificent donut and cut out all the noise. I don’t even think he really realized all the chaos around him, or he would have not been excited to tell Carmy about the donut, but he was soooo happy about it lol Well, that’s my two cents haha
