I Am Not Chamari

It’s so interesting how people see the ending scene as a sign that Richie is learning how to evolve with the times. I saw it as a way to undermine Sydney, but maybe there is some truth to both? Because it is a move he wouldn’t have done in the past! I wasn’t there during the live but it’s interesting how people see Tina’s shift as sudden. You could quite literally see her mood lighten and shift in real time when she interacted with Sydney a couple of episodes ago. 1. Sydney fixed her mistakes for her and did a damn good job at it and she recognized it. 2. Once she recognized how good Sydney is, she got that much nervous about how she was prepping the dish but then Sydney said it was good. I think especially at the age, the expectation is that younger workers with more professional/educational experience than you are trying to push you out and I think Sydney proved to Tina in that episode, that’s not why she’s here. Your attitude and opinion about a coworker can shift in an instance, and that’s what happened here. I also think the situation with Richie in the kitchen where he blew up is a great contrast to the first episode. No one was listening to Carmy and Richie and Tina were having a grand old time chatting, yelling and telling stories. But now that Tina is focused in on the work, it became a huge issue. Richie was just doing what he was used to doing, because as you said, he hasn’t processed anything and he sees change as something inherently linked to erasing Mikey and thus his purpose and relationship to everything around him.
