long comment incoming but christopher always leaves me with a lot to say lol lorelai definitely feels like christopher is her "what if..." and that's a hard thing to get past, especially given how he was behaving recently towards her. she has always had this fantasy that she, rory, and christopher could be a happily ever after. and i can't fault her for that. but i also don't think it's realistic. they have a child together, there's always going to be that connection there. plus they were who each other was closest to during family drama in their youth. there's always going to be that connection. but they aren't the same people they were in their youth and no amount of connection or "what if..." fantasy can make the wrong person be right. christopher isn't right for lorelai, nor lorelai christopher. maybe this new relationship is what's right for him. through no fault of her own, lorelai just isn't someone he's willing to change for. but this new relationship and woman is. so good for him for finding that i guess. i know it sucks for lorelai but she deserves better and ultimately so does rory. i hate that the show keeps bringing him around in this way. i would rather they just let lorelai and christopher just acknowledge who they were and who they are, and the past be the past. it's unfair for lorelai and his new flame to kind of play this back and forth. also this is a random thought but i will always and forever think this show had two different ideas of christopher. at the start, this playboy rich boy who never wanted to settle down or care, who'd flit in and out of their lives. and that was all fine when he wasn't an actual character we had to see on screen. once they brought him on screen, the actor didn't match with my vision of him, and in a lot of ways it felt like the christopher we finally were allowed to see on screen wasn't the christopher we'd been told about. it was just very weird. and he's always felt like a weird character in this way, like they never knew what to do with him, how much to show, to make him a new old flame or leave him in the past etc. and it's always a little jarring lol

Sorry but Chris not being introduced to max isn’t the same as sherry. In theory it should be but up until recently Chris has not really been in Rory’s life so it wouldn’t really make sense to make it a point to involve Chris in that relationship in the same way that Lorelai would be involved if Chris brought a woman around Rory.
