I don’t love Hope as a character, and I didn’t even watch Legacies, but fairness to Hope, she wasn’t trying to hurt her mom. She thought she had a spell that would keep her safe, that she was strong enough to do that because she had been taught by Freya. She’s a dumb kid but putting all the blame on her is actually insane lol plus she’s already stated in the show that she feels responsible—when she was having her breakdown the day of the funeral she kept saying “I killed my mom” so she already has that guilt. It’s just that now she’s sharing it with Elijah, which is more than fair after everything he’s done. if we’re going to put the responsibility on the kid—then it’s also Klaus’ fault for ignoring his daughter for years and driving her to do something desperate to see him again, it’s also Kol’s fault for giving her the idea in the first place telling her some family issue would bring them all together when they had their phone call, it’s Elijah’s fault two times for erasing his memories/taking away Klaus’ moral compass, and for not only letting Hayley die but actively stopping Klaus from saving her. I don’t think we can put the blame on an isolated child but not the 1000+ year old adults around her who created the situation lol and with Greta’s nazi ways, odds are she would have gotten to Hayley eventually anyway given how much they hated and wanted to get rid of hybrids.
