Brian It was quite common for Kings or Queens to actually lead, instead of staying safe and secure away from conflict. Often they actually lead the combat. I know you watched lord of the Rings, and Remember who The Theoden (the King of Rohan, the horse lords) lead the Calvary charge in Return of the King. And how Aragorn lead the final charge against Mordor. Just to show in universe examples of what was expected of a leader.
