so they only did this once with toby, and it was still very different with different reasoning, and he wasn’t purging they repeat storylines in this show but they at least make them unique each time they do it

A lot of Canadians, particularly from Toronto, go down to New York for shopping. While retail tax might be high in New York compared to some other states, it is still lower than in Ontario. Plus it can be far cheaper to go across the boarder and buy certain things than order import them due to being able to have a certain amount of duty free. And Canada just doesn't have as much access to certain brands, particularly when it comes to clothing; and this was even more true back then.

this episode always made me cry and kind of hit me as a teen. It's the first time i truly saw an eating disorder shown on tv, and not from the 'cliche' model-like reasons. I think i connected to it a lot tbh, and this was a rare time i liked Peter actually. I never like him but there are maybe 3 times in the show where i do and this is one of them.

Also with peter, he's such trash but his actor plays him so well and makes him at least entertaining to me, more so in later seasons.
