After a lot of thinking over the weekend, I realized that what's frustrating me with art right now is that I don't feel like my current skillset matches the ideas I have -- I know what I want to draw, but I'm unable to achieve it in a way that satisfies me.

In order to get there, I'd like to spend more time studying and practicing. I want a sharper understanding of art fundamentals, of the things I love about different artists and art styles, and a stronger mental library to build ideas from.

And I figured, as long as I'm doing these studies, I might as well share them on here. It might be a bit embarrassing sometimes, especially when I get into material I'm less familiar with, but I hope you'll bear with me until I get this out of my system OR (hopefully) improve as an artist. 🙏

(I'll still get colored/finished stuff done, too, I promise)

Whoa. If you can put this style into full color consistently your art is going to skyrocket, I love this

As artists, we all struggle with improvement! Happy you’re willing to share with us these sketches :)

It's always good to get some studying done, hope you can get to where you can express your ideas outside more.

All artists hate the simple answer to the question of "how do I improve?" is always just keep friggin' drawing 😂 Your pain and desire to improve arts both felt and shared my friends

I love seeing sketches and the though process behind artists I admire, so please share away!
