(huh i wrote...a lot this week.) About Kirito and his powers. You are right its rarely about him getting powerups, and more about giving him a REASON to use them. Like in Fairy Dance it was about him tapping back into the whole denial of the system, that let him defeat Heathcliff in Aincrad. In GGO it was just giving him a reason to take it seriously, he didnt actually do anything he hadnt done before. Progressive at the moment only exists in books. Of which there are currently six. Covering the first...seven...floors if memory serves. They have not announced when the anime is coming, just that it is coming. The Ocean Turtle is actually off the coast of Japan somewhere but they dont actually say where. But they are being escorted by JSDF (Japan Self Defence Force) ships. Accel World is good. I just wish they would make more of the anime. Whether its actually connected to SAO or not isnt really cannon, but a fan theory. Although it could be, the timelines fit. The theory is that one of the MCs in Accel is actually Asuna and Kirito’s child. And yes, you would enjoy it. You would have a LOT to say. On the subject of Live Action Adaptations. No. Someday someone might pull it off, but for the most part the things that MAKE ANIME...ANIME...just dont translate to live action very well...without just looking silly. On the subject of what was injected into Kirito. If it was the same drug that was used in GGO, it basically just causes the person to have a heart attack. But what happened to Kirito here was that his body was essentially dead for 5 minutes, ie no blood flow to his brain. So the drug didn’t actually damage his brain, the brain damage was just a side effect. On the subject of Kayaba. That is one thing i hope to see in Progressive. Because to Kirito, he was ALWAYS Akihito Kayaba, since Kirito had only really just met Heathcliff when Aincrad ended. But to Asuna, he was The Commander. To this day, he STILL IS. I want to see what he did for her, to make her respect him so highly. None of the Fluctlights have been programmed. That is actually the point, they develop naturally, to be more like human minds. In the first episode, little bean Kirito, had actually been living in the world with Eugeo and Alice for 11-12 years, they were all born on the same day. The purpose was to influence the artificial fluctlights to see if they could break the Taboo Index. I think Kikuoka and Higa try to avoid actually change things in the world. Honestly they seem to not pay near enough attention to what is happening. But well with time passing as fast as it is, that makes some sense. Also of note they dont actually run the world at full speed while Kirito is in there, but time is still passing MUCH faster than the real world. That is the reason for the Asuna breaks, to explain away how so much time passes in the Underworld. The whole subject of AI rights is...a complex one. Although in this case i am not even sure you can call the artificial fluctlights, AI. They are a blank HUMAN fluctlight, raised in a virtual world. So i would consider them humans, who just never had a body to begin with.

I'm going to answer one of your theories but not really explain to not really spoil you. Since you already spoke about it and the fact it is in the opening it's not really a spoiler. Akihiko Kayaba plays a huge role going forward as he always has. It's unlikely that you'll figure out how or when as it should completely surprise you and come out of nowhere but still make sense and answer some questions from the beginning. Something I'm not sure you figured out but is a theme from the beginning and is a huge aspect going forward (much like the memory thing dude spoke of earlier) is surpassing the system. This is what facinated Akihiko Kayaba with Kirito. Though Asuna is the one who surpassed the system twice before Kirito. It's also what inspired Kirito to be able to beat Heathcliff in the first arc. The two time Asuna surpassed the system before Kirito does is first when Kirito was poisoned and dying she was able to get to him fast enough to save him. She shouldn't of been able to go that fast and is confirmed to surpass the system. Second time is when Kirito was facing Heathcliff and she was paralyzed and she broke free and saved Kirito, Heathcliff even mentions that he didn't build a way for someone to cure their own paralysis. This is why He smiled when Kirito kills him it's because Kirito and Asuna both surpassed the system. He didn't die right away after the game was cleared. This is what inspired him going forward and one of the main concepts throughout the whole series. Time in the Underworld is not set. I can be 1 to 1 where it is the same time as the real world or can be set to where it's hundreds of years in a few mins. Kirito has his memories. He just pretends not to as he doesn't want to try and explain of the real world. Kirito's sword the black one (that is it's name at the moment as he hasn't given it a name yet and I won't spoil it for you) is not the same as his Elucidator from SAO. Very different design but it is suppose to represent some similarities to it, as the Blue Rose Sword is meant to represent a mirror of Dark Repulser made by Lisbeth (Rika is her real name) but that has nothing to do with restoring Kirito's memories. Also it has been more than 2 days for Asuna. It has been a few weeks. And Accel World has been confirmed cannon and in the same world (I don't know about the theory of Asuna and Kirito's child though) Though I do forget where I found out that is is confirmed Cannon with SAO. You asked about the drug that Kirito was injected with, it's the same drug used to stop those GGO players hearts that Death Gun was using to kill people. The guy who injected Kirito was the 3rd member Johnny Black that was involved with the Death Gun incident and he was a member or Laughing Coffin in SAO.

I just finished catching up on Westworld (HBO show) it gives me a lot of SAO vibes in a way.

you asked about the games so as for mobile games theres (sao memory defrag) which was the first mobile game to come out and you sort of just go through the basic story of sao. the second game that came out was (sao intergral factor) which is in short a full on sao mmo rpg that is full multiplayer. the final game was (sao alicization rising steel) which takes you through all the story of alicization but also give you animations for scenes that are only in the game sort of like how the books have their own content thats cut from the anime and the anime has new content that isnt in the books, the game has animations and story thats not in either which is why its good to polay them if you can.
