If the filler you are talking about is original dbz 291 episodes or original dragonball i think everyone would want you to watch it and not have a problem with it if you go from watching 2 episodes to 3 episodes per week :)

Mark

the filler esipodes are from 79 to 83. i think you can watch those off camera nothing major important just character development but its up to you mabye take a poll. esipsode 82 is gonna come back up in the arc(new characters) later on but other than that the esipsodes has nothing important to add to the upcoming arc but comedy

Overall I think we should probably get this filler thing sorted out. Dragon ball just watch it all. Dragon ball z either go with z or Kai up to a poll I say but I vote for full experience. I think the debate comes in where people when rewatching the series skip certain sections because they are more boring or something. But in reality the problem is that it’s character growth and progression but when viewing it many times it holds little interest to the action seekers. But the part many may not remember is when you haven’t seen these parts before they are great parts. They give growth to the characters and are enjoyable to watch the first few times through. When rewatching you just want to get to the best of the best but you forget we get to watch Kat see these little moments for the first time and that’s what this is about. I hope I don’t come off as rude everyone I’m just trying to explain a couple sides to the story and why I think watching the whole thing would be best. “Also made a reply to a comment below to someone you might want to read could be on your own or out loud what ever lol”

I see it the same way and hope she watches all the Dragonball episodes and then switches to DBZ.

the moment Son Goku realized that his grandfather was standing in front of him was incredible. I've seen it so often and still had tears in my eyes. It was just as nice as his friends were happy for him. If you compare that. her first appearance and then the one in this episode. be it Bulma, Yamcha or Krillin. we have mentioned it before, but it is still remarkable. I bought boxes 4 to 6 for the Watch Along. By the way, you looked great as Muten Roshi. When you had the stick over your head I had to think of Rafiki ^^. But don't ask me why.

I hope I don't come across as being rude but my opinion on this matter is below (I am going to use the Bount Arc comparison since you like to use it :) ): Fillers in Dragonball are decent except the ones towards the end of the series which are worthless to watch. A 0 out of 10 rating. (they do nothing to drive the story/characters forward in DB or DBZ, one of the worst timewasting episodes I have ever seen, up there with the Bount Arc in Bleach). Overall dragonball filler rating 7/10, most are enjoyable (in matter of fact you already watched a few and might not have noticed, (they are very well incorporated in the story)). The fillers in DBZ...in my opinion, at least 70% are worthless and many of these filler arcs contradict the source material and make zero sense in the series. It is so bad that there is a "Dragon Ball based arc/series" that follow these fillers. The worst part of those fillers is that the Dragon ball manga (which is both DB/DBZ combined) and the Dragon Ball Super anime/manga contradicts these terrible filler episodes. There is also a few epsidoe arcs/episodes, if you watch the original DBZ, that will make you wonder what is the point of these episodes. I would give the rating of all DBZ fillers a 2/10. (There are good filler episodes but some are "it's so bad its good" kinda filler if that make sense.) The movies for both DB/DBZ are fanservice and fall no where in continuity of the series. They are just loosely based on where the characters fall in the story. (They just give some characters some shine and nice animations). The only movies that are canon are for Dragon Ball Super specifically. (There are a couple good OVAs but they still are not canon even though both make sense in the timeline of things). I would personally (as well many dragonball youtube personalities) would go with Dragon Ball Kai as my first watch due to skipping the majority of these wasteful fillers and correcting the many dialog/music/scripting mistakes Funimation/Ocean Dub made in the late 90s and early 2000s. There are a few dialog/scripting mistakes in Dragonball but not as terrible. (There were many fan websites on the internet during this time that were disappointed in how Funimation/Ocean dub handled the series, but were later corrected in Dragon Ball Kai).

I’ve never seen bleach so I can’t make the comparison but let me put something to you this way as a counter to your point. If some dragon ball/z/gt/super episodes came out right now and we’re told they aren’t cannon and don’t drive the plot forward in anyway would you still watch them. If you could erase the filler and gt from your mind and then knowing there is more dragon ball to see would you ignore it. I feel as if your argument comes from you not wanting to watch it again and not from the perspective of someone who has never seen dragon ball at all. If your watching a new show and someone told you skip episode 3 it’s different than the manga/comic/book and isn’t cannon and it’s not the best episode you would still watch it no? Because in reality there is the manga and there is the anime even in super they only match on the biggest points which if you think about it so does z. All the major points are hit. But in the end she is watching the filler on her own time if Kai is chosen it’s whether or not you want to see her reaction to that filler is the question. If she watches the original and If people don’t want to see the filler people can skip those episodes. And that way both parties are closer to happy since they wouldn’t be watching filler and and the other would get to see Kats reaction. But please don’t get me wrong some of the filler I would skip on a subsequent viewing if I was watching alone because I’ve seen the entire show a dozen times. But when watching her react I want to see it all again. It’s as if I’m watching it for the first time again and I’m loving it. And I would like to follow Kats journey through the ups and downs of dragon ball The questions I put forth simplified are these 1. Would you erase the episodes you dislike from your mind if you could. 2. I believe the anime and the manga are two separate canons that just happen to be very close but they are only relevant to themselves since you wouldn’t say something in the Game of thrones show isn’t canon. It would be book and show separate. What’s your opinion on that. 3. People can skip the filler if they don’t want to watch it. Your Opinion on that. I maybe made other point but I forgot lol. Anyways I hope to hear your message soon I love talking dragon ball with people. Ps. Just remembered another point you made lol. The dialog does improve for Kai but don’t forget she won’t be watching the ocean dub she is watching the remastered version on funimation which is like the 2nd version of the show already plus part of the filler is kinda cannon if you think about it. I’m going to be as vague as possible about this but someone’s girlfriend and daughter share the same name one day and the spouse gets mad if you call the child by the wrong one alluding to that filler so that is why I say the anime and manga are different cannons so if she is watching the anime watch it all. Sorry this is so long I hope you have as much fun as me debating about dragon ball it took me awhile of debating whether z or Kai was better for Kat to watch but you can see where I’ve ended up

Here's every filler episode from where you are in the series.  79-83, 127-132, 149-153 Most of them are filled with plenty of comedy as previously mentioned above.

Drinking 7up instead of Dunkin'Tea?! What is this blasphemy!!! Filler in DB is few and far between and is mixed very well into the show. We can decide on what we do with the other DB series when we get there.
