I just noticed that Lujain doesn't have an accent like the rest of the moon elves. I wonder if there is a specific reason for that. Maybe she does it to pass as a human? Or maybe she is part of a different sect of moon elves? Either way love details like that.

Their eyes change because they are using dark magic. Dark magic isn't real magic. Most times when Verin and Claudia use it they are sucking the life out of magical animals or plants.

The show is structured with three arcs of three episodes each per book. This is why there are 9 episodes per book. Also per the show runners there will be a time skip after book 3, which is the most recent book.
