I use a little pot to make just a single cup with a little left over. lf I use my big pot I can't finish it by myself before it gets cold so that only comes out for guests.

I think a lot of people just don’t want another thing to clean, so they get by with the cup they’ll have to use anyway haha. Just a hunch, definitely not speaking from experience.
