They actually did end up raising that bridge 8 inches (so now it's 12' 4"; They can't raise it anymore or lower the road without rebuilding the road, bridge, and track basically from scratch. I think that bridge was built in the late 1800s or early 1900s). While the number of idiots wrecking their trucks has been reduced, it does still happen once in a while. And yes, even before they raised it, they had sensors that would turn the light red when a tall vehicle was detected, had a giant sign flashing in their face telling them they need to turn for a whole thirty seconds or whatever while they sat at the light, and then they would STILL try to squeeze under (assuming they didn't just run the light in the first place like many did)
