WHAT A TREAT! I’ll comment as I go along. I remember this was another one of my favorite episodes from this season when it first aired. You're absolutely right SoFie - Dawn does wear green an awful lot in this season, while Glory wears red. The scene where Dawn rips up her journals and diaries is so very similar to the scene she played in Harriet the Spy when her character does the same!

I love this episode. Michelle has such a great performance here. I agree that there a pretty strong metaphor here for if you find out you were adopted. The scenes between Buffy and Dawn are so lovely and nuanced. Their relationship feels so lived in and authentic. Yes the Spike/Buffy ship is complicated and compelling. Time will tell how it turns out

When Buffy says about Dawn "she needs to know where she came from. she needs real answers! ", she's in fact talking about herself. Remember how the season started, with Buffy telling Giles she needed to know where Slayers come from. Since Dawn is a part of her, it totally makes sense. But we'll talk about it more later on 😉

Personally I think Glory’s nonchalance-like playful personality makes her even more terrifying, it’s the fact that she doesn’t much care about you, she could snap your neck instantly (like it was shown in this episode) she just wants her key lol EDIT: your face when Ben turned into glory had me DEAD 💀 💀 😂😂

I love seeing how torn you are over shipping Spuffy. The brilliance of their dynamic lies in how shipping them feels so wrong and yet so right at the same time. And the fact that it holds up as well as it does despite the giant shifts in acceptable relationship dynamics over the last several years really speaks to how well it was written.
