Hello awesome people!
Since some of you asked, here is a quick step by step process of "HOW" I do backgrounds.
Remember that this is only MY way to do things and not how all people do, so, just use and study this method only if you think this can somehow help you!
So:
- 01: Just draw a quick sketch of your general idea of the background you want to picture.
You can use a background you like, like a photo or something like that if you really need that and there is absolutely no problem with that. Use what this world can give you.
- 02: clear lineart, more precise version of everything.
- 03: flat colors
- 04: Shadows and firsts light points/spots (so you know where to put shadows)
For this step I use the "multiply" layer fusion to paint on everything.
I make more layers of shadows so I can be more precise on some spots.
-05: Add textures (just a random search (image06) on google) and lights.
For the lights I use the "overlay" fusion and some "add glow" fusion.

For the textures, it is bettere to open that file on a separated page and work on the "tonal correction - posterization" or it will bee too real for this style. With that setting you can just convert it in a more anime-style piece.
The texture part is just optional, you don't really have to use them, but in this case I wanted to make a very good quality wooden tomb. It is good, isn't it? XD

Well, there isn't much else to say at this point, obviously it would be better to watch a video-tutorial of this process but unfortunately I can't make them for now (just for now!!).
I really hope this can inspire and help your creative process and guys, stay tuned for the new Erza versions! ;D
