When Sidious says "the power to cheat death a power that only one has achieved" he is referring to Darth Plagueis-- this is said in EPIII and then just kind of left out there dangling forever. Can this come back into the new cannon someway?

Is Yoda's species known in-universe? Wouldn't Yoda or Yaddle have explained who they were at some point?
