It's weird to think that characters that are already so well known, with such refined model assets, with so much art around them, would need to be designed at all! Especially for a lewd mod! Well, it's true, one could easily slap a nude body on a character's head and call it a day. That's certainly a form of nude mod.

It's even possible to take existing bodies and fit them under existing clothing - I'd say that helps to elevate the art of the nude mode a bit - after all, that's then a nude mod specific to that character.

However, that quickly runs into the problem where the details of the body are essentially the same - to lewd mod connoisseurs it becomes obvious where the body has come from, and thus is only a bit more immersive than a simple stitched on body.

Moreover, Genshin characters although having a reasonable variety in source art, tends to have their characters deformed into more rigid body types in the actual game models. While this is reasonable from Hoyo's perspective for a number of reasons, it does dull some of the personality of each character in game a little. Probably the most egregious example was with Itto - with character art showing a buff dude, he launched as a skinny dude with skinny arms with a 6-pack graphic T-shirt (just texture work).

From my perspective, I like to think about and emphasize the personalities of the characters when making the lewd mods. It makes more a more interesting experience, and provides more variation for you to appreciate.

To this end, when customizing the bodies for each character, I look around for high quality fan art of the characters. While fan art is of course not canon - it can provide a reasonable visual barometer on the pulse of how fans feel about each characters. On aggregate, an idea of what the character should look like emerges.

To be fair, this also means that characters tend to be bustier and more voluptuous - which falls perfectly in line with my own preferences. But some characters *are* more busty and more voluptuous than others.

This is of course no science - it largely boils down to me looking around and seeing art that I feel best captures the essence and personality of the character, and using that as the inspirational base for a character.

This art can help contribute proportional information - bust size, type, waist size, hip size, thigh size, etc. Sometimes it can also help to inform me on the finer details - color of the vulva, nipples, whether or not the labia protrudes, its shape, etc. I also go in and resculpt individual details and shapes to fit my view of the character, and redraw various lines to emphasize this. Of course I also recolor the skin to make it all work.

In customizing all these details for the characters, I end up creating something like a 'lewd canon' for them - that is to say, once I'm happy with the form, that's the nude look from which costume variations are created. Given the number of possible costume variations, I generally won't create body size alterations for different costumes (unless requested and easy enough).

Currently I have morphs and recolors that help me affect the breast, hip sizes, vulva details and even anus details. In future, I hope to add more variations to these details to really help sell the variety of bodies and shapes and sizes available in the world, and to help sell the idea of the authenticity of the individual character's nude.

Eventually I plan on adding navel variations, more detail lines (ab lines, different rib cage styles, etc) - as I create more characters, the variations accrue, allowing me to further customize future characters.
