Big Changes to Paypal Affecting Pixiv, Gumroad and LewdLad's Patreon! (Patreon)

Paypal and Adult Content Creation Sites

About a week ago, some of you might have heard about how Gumroad (and then subsequently Pixiv) pulled the rug out from under their R18+ creators - essentially changing their policies to completely ban that sort of content from been made and monetized. While content creators haven't been removed enmasse off those platforms yet - it will no doubt happen in due time once a reasonable grace period is up, and other users start to report that content.

This is due to a simple change in Paypal's operation - they have shifted from attacking individual R18 content creators, to attacking the companies that provide harbour for this sort of content, requiring stricter enforcement standards that likely Gumroad and Pixiv have both found to be untenable.

Currently, Patreon continues to still operate, largely as before - but with some slight changes to their TOS (and a lot of restatement/rewording of rules that were already present).

The big changes you may have heard about are related to the depiction of 'consent' - i.e. all characters depicted should be shown in someway to provide their consent to any sex acts - so no depictions of rape, harassment, or something of that sort (although you can still depict consensual non-consent).

How these policy changes affect this Patreon

That rule change doesn't actually affect this Patreon too much - although as of now, I have completely removed 3 mods from this Patreon that depicted sex acts (Katheryne and the 2 mimic chests).

So the reason I bring this up now, is because I want to let you all know in the interest of transparency how these policy changes will be affecting this particular Patreon creator.

CENSORED and LOCKED (to Patreon Members)

In order to bring my page into adherence with the stated rules of Patreon - I have to censor/make SFW everything that's public facing - I can only show uncensored/NSFW content to paying Patreons. That... took a lot of work, with me censoring thousands of pics. I'll be reposting these galleries in other locations off site (Deviant Art) so that they're not completely locked away.

I've censored this years (2024) galleries, but have also essentially locked (to paying members only) everything prior to that point.

New Patreon Tier - Lewd Basics

Additionally, I've created a new tier - Lewd Basics, which allows anyone to signup for the minimum $1 fee, and provided it with a free 7 day trial. This allows access to content in the same way as before for a nominal fee. In so much as I'd like to continue providing images and access to earlier mods for free, this is the minimum I can do to meet the required rules.

Finally, I've made a public access repository of older mods (off early access) available on our discord channel; https://discord.gg/lmgg which doesn't even require a signup to access.

Required for Survival

While these changes are lamentable, I strongly believe that its the only rational and reasonable thing for me to do for the interest of everyone here (both our team, our patreon members, and the broader community surrounding these mods) - it'd be particularly silly to lose all of it, just because of a technicality!

Mods will continue to be posted up on Gamebanana as well, as that site serves as a valuable place for the community to show off their mods, as well as attract new patreons.
