I want to apologize for the delaying this Weekly Progress post for so long. I had to take care of some IRL stuff for the past two days. With that said, here’s this week’s post.

This Week’s Completed Projects

Originally, I thought I could finish the Splatoon 2 video and the Witcher 3 review last week, but I focused more on the Splatoon 2 video since I knew the Witcher 3 review will require a lot of time setting up the lighting. I don’t really have a lot to comment on for the Splatoon 2 video other than the decision to remove Ambient Occlusion (AO) from the rendering process. Normally, I add AO to all my animations as it gives the models some depth to them but adding AO to Mario gave him “Racoon Eyes.” I could adjust the SSAO settings for the camera in every shot, but I realized the models looked good enough that AO could be removed from them. The Splatoon 2 video should come out early June and here are some of the screenshots from the video.

The other project I finished this week was the MRW: Devilman Crybaby animation. I got to say that I’m really impressed by the Devilman model that Peixoto21 made. It looks like it came from the show! Once again, the problem I ran into for this animation was Scout’s cosmetics. One of Scout’s cosmetics had a lot of clipping issues that was rather irritating to solve. Other than that, the video was very straightforward to animate. Though editing the VFX for the video was a bit more difficult to edit since keying out the greenscreen was annoying for some reason. I hope to release this video the same day the 100K video will come out. Here are some shots from the video.

This Week’s Ongoing Projects

As stated earlier, I FINALLY finished animating EVERY SINGLE SCENE for the Witcher 3 review. The only thing left I need to do for the animations is to light and render the scenes. I was hoping to do it last week, but due to the fact there are about 4 minutes of animations, and some scenes use a VERY large environment, I know that lighting will take some time to finish. Either way, the review is almost done, and I can start work on the Space Marines review in March. With that said, here are some shots from the animation.

I finished writing the script for two parodies for the summer. One is a Fate/Grand Order parody featuring Nero and Tamano No Mae, and the other is a Boruto parody. I’m currently in the process of getting the models ported for the Nero video and gathering the necessary models for the Boruto parody.

This Week’s New Ideas

Believe or not, I do play the Kingdom Hearts games. Well…I played the PS2 games and none of the handheld verisons, but nevertheless, I’m still excited for Kingdom Hearts 3. Originally, I wanted to do a parody for it, but the Kingdom Hearts models on the SFM workshop lacked any face posing. I thought it wouldn’t be possible to work on one…UNTIL Guiman, who help Peixoto21 port his models to SFM, said he can not only rip the original Kingdom Hearts 2 models, but add face posing to ALL of them. I’m currently thinking of a possible Kingdom Hearts parody I could release around the time KH3 comes out (whenever that is).

And that’s it! Thank you, guys, for reading and for your patience and I hope you have a wonderful day or night! See ya!
