We got to see some familiar faces as cameos in this episode. We saw the Coleus siblings and Count Guratol and his wife from the teacher OVAs) in the background at the Festival Eve party! I doubt they will have any real plot importance moving forward, but it is a nice detail to see them hanging around. I hope Queen Towa and Hiiro make an appearance at some point as well. Tiss sensei's reaction to seeing Rimuru transform was really funny! Yeah, at this point, I do not think she knew he was a slime lmao I think the anime changed the layout of the festival slightly compared to the novels. In this episode, while at the Festival Eve celebration, Mjollmile mentions "the martial arts tourney will start tomorrow" meaning Day 1 of the festival. Which is weird because in the novels it starts on Day 2 and I am not sure if they will have time for everything that needs to happen if they start the tourney on Day 1... like are they making it a 2 day festival in the anime now or will it still be 3 days? Day 1 was supposed to be entirely dedicated to the musical performance, science displays, and allowing newcomers to explore and enjoy Tempest and the food stalls. I am curious to see how they handle the change

I went back to check. The first day of the festival is when the tournament starts, but it's just the prelims. They are going to narrow down 200 entrants to 6, plus 2 seeded for the quarter finals which will begin on Day 2. Finals are Day 3. .................... Really looking forward to what happens NEXT! after Rimuru's speech. Lol. ............................ Did you notice they actually skipped a meeting?!! Its replacement was Mjollmile's brief message about not recognizing most of the retail-level merchants. ............. I expected a bigger splash from Elmesia's entourage. Erald was supposed to be practically unrecognizable with his get up. Maybe later. After all the hype with that dragon and airship, she walks in the hall with a few nondescript escorts.

Yeah, I started wondering the same thing, why doesn't Yuuki just decide, that Rimuru's world looks to be as much fun as the world I was working towards, why don't I just join forces with Rimuru, or just let him do it by himself? I guess his own vision isn't the same? What exactly is he trying to get by taking over the world? Is it the simple cliche reason of power and money? Somehow I don't think that's it, at least that not all of it. (Yes, I know his backstory, but I don't think that's enough to answer the question.) Maybe the fun is just in doing it.

Yeah, Yuuki is a hard to understand character at this point in the story. I also don't totally understand his motivation, but I can make a guess. I do not think it is about shaping the world in his image or anything grandiose like that, the dude just wants to be at the very top of the world. Yuuki is a VERY greedy person (we see this manifest in the not too distant future) so honestly I think that is his motivation, pure greed. Simple but effective lol
