So... our first Blender release.
I can't believe we're here. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were putting out 1 SFM animation a week; now we're adding Blender to the mix.
Crazy.
I haven't put out a WIP post in some time mainly because I've been so busy with Blender and all the changes/learning that entails. Here are some updates.
For the curious, my current workflow and schedule allow 1 Blender animation a week. Some people would start at 1 a month, or 1 every couple of weeks, but I tend to get harebrained and push myself to the limits. I don't know if that's too much, but I feel that 1 Blender animation a week is still a way better goal than most studios or creators, especially since we'll still be doing 3 SFM animations a week on top of this.
With us taking on Blender I knew we'd need some help "in the studio" (we all work together online) taking care of the SFM animations. Thus, Wampa has joined the team. Not only will they be helping me with SFM weekly releases, they'll be joining the Studio Release team after the end of our current Sylvanas Studio Release. This ensures our release rate stays where it's at, that our studio weekly releases grow in length and diversity, and that we push the quality up on our studio releases. I'd like to double our length from 30 seconds to 1 minute on weekly releases, and double our length on studio releases from 90 seconds up to 3 minutes. I don't think this will happen on every single one, as we are still such a small studio, but it's certainly a great goal to strive for.
In other news, Punky will be making a return to voice acting next month after a short hiatus next month. We'll be glad to have her "back in the studio.". The team is slowly growing!
Also in other news, I've been in talks with Quick E about releasing SFM models every month or two as a way of giving back to the community. If they enjoy the work and can keep up, I might ask them to join our studio release team to help with models for scene setup. So far we have one model in the works, and we'll see how that goes. I'll most likely be pulling from the massive model lists on Discord and see what needs the most love from the community.
I get pretty long winded once I start remembering everything, so I am gonna end it here. I think that covers all of it, anyways. Enjoy the new videos, and thank you all for your continued support!
