The Weeknd has been one of my favorite new artists of the last few years and I'm glad I finally found an interesting way to cover him. "Can't Feel My Face" is an awesome song, full of great vocal parts and with one of the funkiest bass lines the mainstream has seen in years - and I couldn't resist the challenge of trying to recreate it at my dentist's office.

Some interesting tidbits:

+ The kick drum is just one thump on the dentist chair, but to get a nice full snare/clap sound I had to layer the chair back, the model teeth, the light switch, two latex glove snaps, and a plastic cup being put down on the sink.

+ Buddy sings super high. I had to knock the song down 4 semitones and it was still pushing my limits.

+ Pitch-shifted latex gloves MAKE AWESOME BASSLINES! I laid on some distortion and they were naaaasty. Toned it way down for the video so it wouldn't be quite as altered from the original sound, but I think I may use these samples in the future...

+ That thing that sprays air is pretty powerful. Also the speed of the drill is controlled with a foot pedal! I basically know how to perform root canals now.

MP3 is attached and WAV download is coming for $5+ patrons soon.

Hope you enjoy and I will talk to you again soon!

Andrew I became a patron to get some of your songs on my phone but I didn't know they were only for computer (this saddens me)

Hey Abrahm, not sure what kind of phone you have but these files are all standard and compatible with all the major ones. You should be able to look up how to move audio files onto it!

I always assumed the song was about a man and his relationship with a Jellyfish, whenever they kiss, he goes numb.
