Omg yes!!! What a treat!!

Walt doesn't give off serial killer vibes really. He's not following the investigation to get a thrill. Walt was clearly drunk at dinner, but we all should know his biggest weakness by now... himself. So its no surprise whatsoever that he feels the need to cut down a dead man's reputation further to fuel his own ego. He's got severe issues 😅 It's odd you almost want Walt to fall into pure supervillainy, rather than be more humane. Like, this is how people work. Maybe not the murderous part so much, but yeah. He's a complex mess. It actually would make less sense for him to be emotionless and "evil" that's just not how people work. But he does show incredibly accurate behaviors of narcissism. I really like Mike's blowup on Jesse early on. It actually shows that he cared about Victor. That was his "guy" and he had no clue Gus was going to kill him. Victor's death and Gus' decision weighs on him.

Yes yes yes! TY!

Wtf we doubling down this week. Just gets better and better

Hank was done and Walt’s buzzed ass reinvigorated him. Now he’s connected Gale with Los Pollos Hermanos. Good job 😂 two cell phones wasn’t enough for him to let slip…I’m starting to think Walt is the real danger, here………..

Gus is in the driver's seat when it comes to Walter, Skyler's in the driver's seat when it comes to buying the car wash, Hank is in the driver's seat when it comes to the investigation and Mike is literally in the driver's seat when driving Jesse around. Walter is feeling out of control and no one is feeding his ego. The one time he's seen driving, he's careening all over the road. (Name of episode is "Shotgun")

Wowww! Love this. I never caught that! But yeah!

Two uploads? This made me really happy

seeing Walt's out of control ego put his own azz in danger, rather than let someone else get credit as the "genius" --its so great!!! BTW, the girls are so right, this is purely self-destructive behavior

You're on to something with Gus splitting a wedge between them, but I think it's also about motivating Jesse. Jesse spent like 3 episodes in his house just withering away over guilt, loneliness, and his general situation. Felt like he gained purpose again in this ep. You guys are so right about Walt losing control and not being able to handle it. Also interesting how Hank and Jesse both regained purpose through the assistance of others while Walt is just getting worse

Walt’s Pride and Ego strikes again.

Oh yeah, Walt's self sabotage in this show is ridiculous. Ridiculously good, though, he's a narcissistic and he would ruin the world if that made him look good.

Yeah, Maple's seems to have been wedded to the Walt-as-serial-killer reading since Jane's death --certainly since their reaction to the I.F.T. episode, in which she likened Walt to Ted Bundy and called him a "blob of niche fiction." This was during their reactions to Barry and Succession, in which their protagonists, who are arguably far more dangerous and psychotic as Walt, were not subject to such derision. Not to say that Walt is not a covert-turned-malignant narcissist, but that's not quite the same profile as Ted Bundy/serial killer, at Walt's worst. Maybe that's the inspiration behind the drive for him to be a super villain, that is, because it simplifies a seemingly deeply rooted disdain for someone who is, nonetheless, relatable --as father, husband, not a billionaire or hitman but rather someone who faces potential bankruptcy for most of the series and who is always on the precipice of death, which I think are the baselines of his complex arc "from Mr. Chips to Scarface" over the course of *five* seasons, with according nuances in characterization and acting.

Yeah this episode and the last one really showcase Walt's antisocial tendencies with both his family and his work life, and how that is him shooting himself in the foot 95% of the time, and how Jesse distinctly doesn't have that problem.

Pride, y'all. Pride. Convincing himself he's bigger than others. He has an ego most of us don't have...but some absolutely do.

I can't wait till they experience the Heisenberg season
