so recently, I got a question about how I actually draw things (being a .. self-confessed hack artist. :\ ) and I thought I'd share with the gang.

up-above you can see a collage of art references that I've picked out for rengara. that's step one, finding everything 'useful' I can get my hands on. I do everything with a mouse and I'm awful at free-drawing, so tracing every shape I think I can use is where I'd usually start. (apparently, I'm not alone here. and a lot of actual professionals do traces too. :o )

looking closely (click the pic for a better view) you'll notice all the green outlines, and orange being used for shading. that's the easy part. I'll throw on some music, watch some shows in the background, whatever.. I can draw away and kinda switch off for all that :D

then, after I've got my shape, I'm ready to move it into place. slap colour on, then morph, re-draw or even splice multiple parts together .. until it finally 'fits'

and after all the unique bits are taken care of, from there it's about filling in the gaps, drawing whatever else I need and recycling old stuff here-and-there. (you may have spotted vayne's leg-guard and sivir's sash)

anyways.. still not done here, but that's the basic process

bam. magic broken.
