Shopping (2)
After a while, the shopkeeper somehow regained their composure. So, I went ahead and placed an order for the brooch.

I checked with Elena if she wanted to make it match Rebecca-san's by using pearls, though it wouldn't be for everyday use, but more for parties. She wanted to avoid using pearls because she wanted to match with Feat and Mile instead.

"We can make it so that it can be exchanged for pearls when the young lady grows older..."
"Let's go with that!"

In the end, we decided against using pearls, but the shopkeeper made a thoughtful suggestion, perhaps sensing our hesitation until the last moment.
Elena was quick to jump on the idea… In fact, her reaction was incredibly fast.

"Um, yes, understood. However, if we make it exchangeable, the processing fee will be a bit higher. Is that alright?"
"Yes, that's fine. Let's get three of that type, please."

So, thanks to the shopkeeper's considerate suggestion, we placed an order for brooches for Elena, Feat, and Mile that could be exchanged later. While we specified the colors and parts for the adults' brooches, we left the design to the shop, ensuring it wouldn't stray from Elena's desire for a matching style.

“"See you later~!”"

After successfully placing the brooch order, we sold a few small pearls at the shopkeeper's request.
Strangely, the sale price of the pearls exceeded the advance payment for the brooches, and we ended up receiving money when we left.

"”Next, let's go there!”"

We wandered around the town after leaving the jewelry store. Soon, Allen and Elena set their sights on a fabric and leather goods store.

"We're buying cloaks, right?"
"And gloves too!"

They hadn't forgotten about buying cloaks for Feat and Mile and thick gloves for themselves.

"That's right. But first, we need to check if we can bring our familiars inside."
"Allen will go ask!"
"Elena will ask too!"

We needed to confirm if it was okay to bring our familiars, who were monsters, into the store. After I told the kids this, they immediately ran towards the store.

"Kaiser, please watch over the kids."
"Leave it to me."

Since I couldn't leave Patrick-san unattended, I left the confirmation to the kids. Kaiser went along to make it seem like an adult was with them. The kids would probably handle the negotiations themselves.

"Ah... Patrick-san, do you know that I have contracted beasts?"
"Yes, I have heard about it."

While heading to the shop with Patrick-san, I asked him about my familiars just to be sure. As expected, our information seemed to be well shared.

"In that case, without further ado..."

I summoned Feat and Mile. The summoning was noticeable, but calling them from the shadows was not that conspicuous. Conveniently, there were no passersby, so I quickly finished it.

(Oh my, we're in the city)
(Really?)

Feat, the size of a kitten, lightly jumped into my arms, while Mile swiftly climbed up my body and settled on my shoulder.

"Remeber, I promised to buy you cloaks?"
(Oh! Niisama, thank you!)
(Yay! I'm so happy!)

When I told them the reason for the summoning, Feat and Mile looked delighted.

(By the way, Niisama, who is this person?)
"This is Patrick-san. He's Cedric-san's younger brother and Isaac-san’s older brother."
(Oh my, now that you mention it, he does resemble them)
(Really!)

Feat and Mile, who were familiar with the Risner brothers, immediately understood and began observing Patrick-san, but for some reason, Patrick-san seemed to be nervous.

"Patrick-san, are you okay?"
"Ta-Takumi, is that... Are they the Celestial Tiger Feat and the Forest Rat Mile?"
"Yes, that's right. Feat is small due to her Minification skill, but she's normally much bigger."
"An S-rank monster right in front of me..."

I see. Patrick was nervous because he realized that an S-rank Celestial Tiger was present.

"They're well-behaved. Would you like to hold her?"
"Huh? Wh-what!?"
"Feat, is it okay?"
(Sure, I don't mind)

With Feat's permission, I somewhat forcefully had the flustered Patrick-san hold her. As a result, he noticeably froze up.

"Ta-Takumi-san..."
"It's okay. She won't bite or scratch."
"No, it's not that..."

As we were talking, the children came back.

"Ah, Feat is being held by Rick-san!"
"Really! Feat, that's great~!"

The children noticed Feat in Patrick-san's arms and were delighted to see them getting along.

"Welcome back. How did it go?"
"”They said yes!"”
"Takumi, the kids got permission."

It seemed the children successfully got the approval.

"That's great.---Feat, Mile, we got permission, so let's go check out the shop."
(Fufu, I am excited~)
(Yay~ !)
"Patrick-san, shall we go?"
"Wait, just like this? Takumi, really, just like this?"
"”Rick-san, let's go~”"

Patrick-san seemed to want to return Feat to me, but I deliberately ignored him and led him to the shop with Feat still in his arms. Allen and Elena also pushed his back, urging him to walk.

"Excuse us."
"Welcome. Oh my, these must be the ones. Both are so cute and well-behaved."

The woman who greeted us was slightly older than me. She had been informed in advance, so she welcomed Feat and Mile with a smile.

"We'd like to get some cloaks."
"Yes, I've heard. You want cloaks for these two, right? We don't have any in their size, so it will take some time to make them. Is that okay?"
"Umm, they're going to choose themselves, but the size should be... let's see... as big as the ones you use, I think."

It needs to be big enough to cover them when they transform, so normal size will do.

"Oh, I see. In that case, I'll bring out the ones we have in stock, and you can choose from there. Is that alright?"
"Yes, that sounds good. Could we take a look first? If there's nothing they like, can we place an order?"
"Of course, no problem."

The shopkeeper went to fetch the cloaks in stock.

"Feat, Mile, don't settle for less. Choose the ones you like."
(Yes, I understand)
(Got it!)

Having to choose a cloak, not regular clothes, it didn’t seem like there were too many choices to make.

(I like this one!)
(Mm~ I'll take this one!)
"What, you've already decided?"

Feat chose a black hooded poncho-style cloak without sleeves, while Mile picked a white hooded coat with sleeves. I thought they might take more time to decide, but Feat and Mile chose very quickly.

(For things like this, the first impression is the most important.)
(Exactly!)

I had prepared myself for the possibility that this shopping trip might take a long time, as it often does with girls, but I was pleasantly surprised.

"Oh, by the way, do you have a cloak that's brown on the outside and green on the inside... or something like that?"

With Feat and Mile's cloaks decided, I moved on to the next item.

"That's an unusual request. Unfortunately, we don't have anything like that."
"How about making one?"
"Well, it's possible to sew brown and green fabrics together. If it's leather, we could dye one side. But what would you use it for?"
"We're adventurers, so we’d like to use it to blend into the forest."

The idea for the cloak came from Vector, meant for camouflage. I was thinking of making it reversible to adapt to both soil and bushes. Well, I anticipated that it wouldn't be available. It's a special combination, after all.

"I see. In that case, leather that doesn't get damaged when wet and is good at repelling water would be better than fabric."
"If you can get that kind of leather, I'd appreciate it."

Leather that doesn't get damaged by water sounds good! If we choose brown leather, one side can be left as is.

"Alright. I know a few sources for the leather, so I think we can get it. But the green dye might be tricky."
"Oh, I can provide the green dye."

I took out some green dye I had obtained from the Dungeon of Colors.

"Which one would be good?"
"”This one~?”"
"Maybe a darker green would be better than a lighter one?"
"”Then, this one~?”"
"Wait a minute! Are those dyes? There are so many shades of green? Where did you get these dyes?"

As the children and I were choosing the color, the shopkeeper became very interested in the dyes. I could already foresee what would happen next.

"It's from the Dungeon of Colors. If you need, I can sell you other colors later."
"Really!? It's a deal!"

So, before she could ask, I offered to sell the dyes, and the shopkeeper immediately agreed. Since dye quality can't be judged like pearls, we decided to test it on our cloaks before negotiating the purchase.

"Then, please proceed."

I ordered two reversible cloaks for the kids and ten for adults, including spares. I also ordered thick gloves for the children. This time, I paid for the two cloaks as an advance payment for the rest.
