Every Champion is Cosmic (No More Tiers!) (Patreon)

No tiers. That's the lesson I've learned the last couple of months. From now on, every backer gets every item.

Back in October, I switched from charging of $1 per item to flat monthly of $2 or $5. I was publishing a lot of material and I worried that charging for every single thing would get out of hand for patrons. Prominent Patreon veterans recommend the $2/$5 monthly model. 

But what happened here was that lots of backers didn't change from the original $1 tier. That meant lots of backers didn't get the fun stuff I was sharing. And the number of new backers signing on each week dropped. And my overall income dropped sharply.

Now, I've thought about changing back to charging for every item published. But I can't! When I went monthly, I checked a box that says "Charge Up Front" to bill new patrons for having instant access to the whole library. That seemed reasonable. But I didn't pay attention to the warnings. Checking that box meant I can NEVER change back from monthly billing. To switch to per-item billing would mean killing this Patreon account and starting over. I don't want to do that except as a  last resort.

So, monthly it is!
