Great review Ben. Only lacked two points I kind of wish you had hit, one being the game having been developed by ILCA instead of GameFreak, which has never happened for a mainline game before now and explains quite a bit of why the game is the way it is, and then the other point just a simple footnote about how the Secret Bases you covered that are simply just for spawn rate statues now used to have many more decorative furniture items available to make an actual base out of instead of just a statue room as that's actually quite a downgrade from the original. I'm thrilled you spotlit the Snowpoint City theme though, as that's always been a favorite of mine too. Also, I hope enough Critics mentioning the forced always on EXP Share brings that problem's attention to light and leads to change. That's not new to this game, but it continues to be a major hindrance to the enjoyment of many, myself included.

Great comment 👍 I feel like all the Allies, everytime, would forget to mention that Game Freak weren't the developers this time around - so yes, definitely explains why there was much less risk taken. Also, I'm with you Mbun, let me turn EXP share off please! I don't mind if it's on by default, but let me turn it off!

I would like to just add to Mbun's comment by saying the one "difficulty option" that DOES exist in Pokémon seems to never be used by the allies, which is the "Set" battle style. In the options you can choose set vs. shift battle style and shift is chosen by default - which means that the game will tell you what the next pokémon to battle will be, and give you the option to change your pokémon before your opponent brings in their next. You can change this to "Set", which means that your opponent just sends out their next pokémon and you'd have to waste a turn to change out your pokémon if the matchup isn't favorable. (Sorry for the long-winded post)
