Greetings,

In today's edition, I examine the motivations of characters like Svengallop and Coloratura during "The Mane Attraction." This shows the different ways that we can lose ourselves by selling out as well as why people usually sell out in the first place. Sometimes it's because they're like Svengallop and only desire fame and money for their recognition. Sometimes, people like Coloratura buy into the image to get that recognition and usually it takes losing all of that to get them back down to Earth - if they're capable of coming back down without crashing.

That's why we have to remember what's important, even if you achieve those heights. And though it's natural to desire that recognition for the hard work you may put into your art, doing it for the sake of that fame will only expose your most sinister aspects or drain you of all personality. Just be yourself and do what you need. Even if your audience never reaches past your friends, it only means you'll have a much bigger impact on those few.

I don't have a very big audience. I never have and I never will. But because I keep to this lesson as well as I can, I've attracted the right audience. They have been very good to me thus far.
