Moral of the Story - Honest Apple (Patreon)

Greetings,
For today's installment, let's examine this long-winded essay that could be easily summed up by song lyrics by The Byrds, "...and a time to every purpose under Heaven."
On its surface, there's two main things about this episode. 1) Applejack should have tried to understand what she was doing. 2) Rarity should have picked someone better for the job. Or at least give Applejack some training.
But there's a bit more to it than that. Rarity, as an artist, works in the subjective nature of things. While whether or not something works in a practical sense is all that Applejack knows. I wish the episode had acknowledged that there's a requirement of balance between the ideas. The lesson could have gone much further.
It's possible I went too deep on this one. But I really wanted to drive home just how far the idea of balance can go. As well as the idea that even if something sits objectively in one thing or another, outside circumstances can change that. And it's important that we're able to acknowledge this and analyze everything on a case-by-case scenario, and try to determine the best strategies from there.
Be sure to let me know what you think.
P.S.
I really am this bad as an artist.
