You just haven’t lived until you’ve drunk soda from a plastic bag.

Normally, Alice would never have considered such a thing. Having grown up in a world of fine dining and with her penchant for technical wizardry, making and consuming the most elaborate dishes was a comfort zone she was firmly wedged in. Much like the many couches and loveseats she had gradually been stuck in more and more over the last few months, the barrage of street foods and creative cuisines she had been forced to make to fund her world trip had given her a new perspective on food and her figure.

Fatness had never really worried her up to this point, but following the unfortunate sinking of their junk boat off the coast of the South China Sea, the significantly less roomy life raft they had drifted in on appeared to be more like a floaty as her body’s slight jiggling threatened to capsize them.

Eventually, the pair had washed up on a shore north of the Philippines with much of their bare essentials intact. Found by a bunch of fishermen who had happened to be out that way, many a joke had been made about a successful whaling expedition which only made Alice more conscious of her weight.

“Hey Ryou, do you think I’m getting a bit…you know?”

“Know what?” Ryou sighed as he sucked down his soda filled baggie. It certainly helped to wash the salt out of his mouth.

“Well…overdoing it is what I mean…” Alice sighed, her wet hair flopping over her enormous breasts. “In the weight department…”

“You’re really asking me that now?”

Alice could feel the heat of her blush as she awaited for his answer.

“I mean, my Tagalog isn’t really up to scratch, but I think our saviors just called me a ‘roast piggie’ a few moments ago...”

“And what of it?”

Alice looked up. She knew he was dismissive at the best of times, but never when it came a chance to chastise her. She had felt guilty for almost capsizing them and he wasn’t taking the bait.

“Look, if you’re worried about getting fat, we’ve passed that point a long time ago. We both set out to learn more about food and if anything, you’ve certainly learned as much as you could with every bite. This jiggly body of yours is a testament to that.”

He placed his hand on her wobbling gut for emphasis, sending her scarlet blush almost nuclear as she clung to the tattered remains of her dress.

“Besides, your Tagalog really is shit if you had interpreted their words that way. As a fellow man of the sea, I can tell you that they weren’t comparing you to a roast pig, but that they would love to treat you to one as their national dish.”

“Huh?!”

“Lechon Baboy is a crispy pork dish, usually served with a mung bean soup and rice. The legendary ‘Mock Turtle Stew’ as it were. Quite fattening but tasty as hell if served right.”

It was at that moment their boat went over a rough patch of waves. Alice could feel her enormous body quiver from the shock as a sudden surge sent her falling forwards. Her looming shadow cast itself across Ryou’s body as her blubber impacted his skinny frame, sending them crashing to the floor. Her blush, already beyond cosmic, threatened to go nuclear as she pinned him underneath her belly while their saviors giggled amongst themselves at the sight of such an enormous woman threatening to crush her skinny young man.  

“And if these fuckers think they can out cook me when we reach land,” Ryou coughed, trying hard to redirect the conversation. “Then they’ve got another thing coming…”
