Yes, this isn’t a traditional Japanese dress so it doesn’t 100% go with the theme. I had limited options. But this dress is freaking beautiful. I got it while on a trip to Hawaii along with a bunch of other similar styles dresses. The story I got is that this women who retired in Hawaii would go and visit her home place of Hong Kong often. Anytime she traveled there she’d get a dress custom made for her and fitted to her body. These dresses she donated to the shop once she was in her 80s and no longer wearing them. Countless customers came in wanting these beautiful dresses but no one fit this women’s exact measurements and the shop owner had to convince people not to buy them when they didn’t fit the customer properly cause she wanted these dresses to go to someone who would wear them. I came in and luckily they fit my perfectly! I’m not rich but I felt like if they’d been sitting there for that long without someone fitting them I should but all the ones I am able to. I bought 3 or 4 out of her collection. I love buying vintage. I love even more when the story of the pieces are known and told to me. She was a business women and wore these dresses to her various meetings and dinners.

That's the most interesting story I've heard about someone buying clothes. Seriously! I love these stories 😊
