Five years ago, when I was eyeballs-deep into the Steven Universe fandom, I took to the internet with a Gemsona of my very own. A few of you might remember her as Kyanite.

Originally, I played with the character as a means of running my long-since-abandoned Tumblr fan blog, with Kyanite at the helm, sharing all the most interesting Steven Universe-related content she could find. And I had a lot of fun doing it!

What most of you may not know, however, is that I always had a grand story planned for her, as well as plans to unveil not one, but two more Gems that would appear alongside her.

That's right. I've secretly had three Gemsonas for over four years now.

Folks... It's time I throw back the curtains and let you see precisely what I was working on for all those years.

NO MORE SECRETS! - Kyanite

Within this Google Drive folder, I've shared a .zip folder containing every possible image I could locate of Kyanite and her two mysterious Gem acquaintances. I've also included two Google Docs that better elaborate the plot I had planned-- nine pages worth of story and dialogue sequences that never saw any kind of official release. Give it a look, and you'll surely see that Kyanite was not always the kind and gentle "cloud aunt" you know her to be...

I had grand aspirations to slowly transform Kyanite's simple fan blog, and make Tumblr my host for a fan comic, a labor of love to show my dedication for a show that I unfortunately haven't sat down to watch in years. Despite being fan work, the Kyanite project is one I still feel a lot of pride for. I felt I was able to handle the source material with respect and pay careful attention to canon, enough that the character might have been considered believable to exist within it.

One day, I'll catch up with the series... And one day, perhaps, I can feel more comfortable revisiting this character again. There's a lot of love for her out there, and I really enjoyed working with her in all manner of artworks. But for now, please enjoy what I was working on, and think about what could have been.
