Oodles of Doodles Troubleshooting! (Patreon)

I've gotten a couple comments from some patrons who are having trouble accessing and extracting the Oodles of Doodles .zip folders! I want to make sure everyone who's paid for this tier gets access to these drawings, so allow me to lay out a step-by-step guide to correctly download and extract the folder!

1. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM

This is PeaZip! Like it or not-- according to Microsoft, at least-- WinRAR isn't a free program, and it's getting harder and harder for long-time owners to use these days. I'm told that modern versions of Windows may even have a built in un-zipper (very technical terms here, folks), but I can't confirm that myself. All I know is, PeaZip works for me every time! And best of all, it's TOTALLY FREE!

2. Go to the Oodles of Doodles folder!

The page you're viewing should look something like this! Like I said in a previous post, there will be more content joining this folder, so it's recommended that you bookmark this page! Looks like there's only one folder for now... This next step should be easy!

3. Double-click on the file you want to access!

This should be what you see! You'll notice there's a folder icon in the body of this box. If you open it, you can see the names and types of each file included in the folder. But this is NOT how you download the .zip! Instead, you literally have to...

4. Go HERE to download it!

Way up there in the top right-hand corner!! Once you click on that, Google Drive will run a very brief virus scan. At that point, you should be prompted to choose a destination. This is only a .zip file, not the actual folder, so it's my recommendation to put it somewhere where it's easy to find, like the Desktop. Or, if you have a dedicated Downloads folder that you can access easily, just put it there!

5. Locate the .zip folder and run it through PeaZip!

This might be the most important step. I tested this three different ways: Extract, Extract here, and Extract here (in new folder). Only ONE of these methods worked, and that's the one you see on your screen. The first method seemed to go in an extracting loop; the third method requests authentication, which it should be doing anyway, but results in unreadable files. You MUST select Extract here.

6. Enter the password when prompted

Each Oodles of Doodles folder is password-protected so that only patrons can access them. This folder is public for anyone to view, but you can't view any files without a password. Enter the password, hit that OK button, and...

There it is!! Right where it should be, in the directory of your choosing!

Once the folder has been unzipped, the .zip file itself is good to go in the garbage. You've found your prize! Now revel in it! You paid for it, after all!!
