How's your week gone? I was sick, but now I'm better. This week's map is the Monolithic Dock, a last-minute name pick because the building to the north is meant to be gigantic and the file's previous name, "cliffside crane" was both a misnomer after I changed the dropoff to water and a little too much alliteration for me to handle.

Although this was initially inspired by a piece of scenery in my big folder-full-of-interesting-images-to-throw-at-my-players, the end product had very little to do with the image - a series of titanic constructs bolted onto a glacial ravine. It sorta morphed into a small dock, possibly on a private island - or in the snowy version's case, perhaps Antarctica.

  • The Supporter-tier variants include the docks during the day, night, and a downpour of rain.
  • The Enthusiast-tier variants are an icy edit of the day and night maps, with snow coating most of the structures.

I used a fairly different process while drawing the line-art for this map - I used charcoal pencils instead of my usual ink - and I think the end product is pretty nice. Drawing all your line-art on one layer is convenient sometimes.

I actually drew two maps this week, though. Someone mentioned wanting a cyberpunk alley/street, so I drew that too, and I'll have it uploaded in a separate post a few minutes after this one, so look forward to that!

(Map is 20 tiles wide and 26 tiles tall, resolution is 100ppi - one hundred pixels squared per tile/inch.)
