I hope you're all doing well, because I've had it up to here with this year. This map was the result of last week's monthly map poll! Cyberpunk city streets morphed into a pastiche of a scene from AKIRA - as the map title should make obvious - with civilian pathways built atop skyscrapers. Frustratingly, my style of drawing doesn't do a good job of displaying height properly due to orthogonal projection, but I think I made it work well despite that.

In the near future, flying cars means three-dimensional traffic, and it's not just traffic that's three-dimensional - zoning laws are, too. Someone's built a small fast food joint on top of this skyscraper, next to the local plaza, whose water fountain illuminates during the night in a delightful show. Far beneath lies streets the (literally) upper-class dare not touch, but that doesn't matter - it's not the focus of this map, after all.

Get it? It's a focus pun. See, because the streets are blurred out.

  • The Supporter tier variants include the map at day, night, and during heavy rain. No matter the time of day, a thin layer of smog blankets the area.
  • The Enthusiast tier variants include the fast food restaurant's interior exposed for all three of the Supporter maps, plus a couple of extra edits for a blackout and some remarkably topical civil unrest.

The map is 20 tiles wide and 25 tiles tall, at the standard resolution of 100 pixels per square, squared. JPGs are included, Dutchmen get the raw map/asset files, so on and so forth! I wonder if anyone ever rolls their eyes at this section, since everything in it is pretty obvious, usually.

If you're new and like what I'm doing, I'd appreciate it if you became a patron - you'll get a lot of extra maps, and my eternal thanks. If you're already subscribed, I hope you enjoy the map, and get some good utility out of it.

(And, as a minor spoiler, next week's gonna be Route 104! It'll be a bit more cheerful than this one, closer to the Beach Episode map. Look forward to it!)
