You know, when I put down "Saloon" in the monthly poll, I didn't expect it to get 6 votes and I also didn't expect to become so infatuated with the idea myself. I actually really wanted it to win.

Fortunately, I'm an artist! So here it is, in all of its old western glory. Drop it on your players exploring the frontier! Make a frontier up if you have to! It's even got a Fallout-themed variant, so you can use it for those couple of Fallout-themed RPGs. I'm pretty sure they exist - hands up if you've actually played them before. I'm curious about how they work.

  • The Supporter variants are the Crystal Saloon during the day, night, and an unpleasantly intense sandstorm. There's also a bonus variant in the Nuclear Winter version (that's right, you get four variants this week, free of charge), with green light so intense it'd almost make you wish for a, erm, well.
  • The Enthusiast variants are the second story for the building, during all the aforementioned weather and time conditions! It comes with a pool table, too. As a pool table owner, I can assure you that they're a lot of fun, and historically accurate, too. Or at least as accurate as the rest of the myths around the old west are.

A big thanks to my Dutchmen, and also a bunch of technical files for their perusal - that means furniture tokens in png and kra format. And also the original map files. I'll be honest, I don't know if anyone actually uses them, which is a pity because it'd be nice to see what you guys have been doing (if anything at all!).

The map itself is 24 tiles wide and 21 tiles tall. Free version is, like always, attached to this post! If you like what I'm doing, I'd appreciate it if you subscribed, to support me and my work! If you're already subscribed, well, thank you again! If you don't want to drop a wild west one-shot on your players (and you really should, they'll thank you for it), next week's map will probably be fantasy - someone gave me a good idea recently. And one of these days I'll have to fit another sci-fi map in, too.

I really like the shadows outside the saloon! Also, it‘s great that it could be used as a generic fantasy inn on the lower floor ^-^
