I can't believe the massive surge of support I got over the last couple of days. My subscriber count doubled. That's four times my rate of growth so far! More importantly, the first goal I had set out - $50 per map - has been exceeded by a large margin! The original event I had put down to mark it was a pack of free assets, but I started to question the value of that back when I changed my art style to incorporate detailed lighting and shadows - at which point it became somewhat harder to insert new furniture without it looking strange. I guess it hasn't stopped other artists, though. Either way, now I need to figure out something to do for the occasion. I've considered:

  • Drawing an extra bonus full-size map
  • Drawing another big collection of smaller maps around a single theme, like the Burrows map I did a while back
  • Just going ahead with the tokens thing
  • Making a tileset for constructing custom maps with, for use in a program like Tiled

If any of these sound particularly appealing or if you've got a better idea, it'd be nice to know. In the meantime, there was a three-way tie between entries in the monthly map poll, so the next map will be the Volcano's Rim. Thanks for all of your support.
