As much as I love and adore Teka, I can’t necessarily blame Enji for not wanting anything to do with her. She’s a terrible mother and losing Yoshi was no excuse for being a neglectful parent.

If I had to guess, she’s afraid to admit her own faults and insecurities. And for whatever reason, she sees her openly loving him as a fault. She did something similar in the sfw comics Acker gave us with her and Yoshino. She seems to see showing love and affection as a fault or a weakness. Just my guess…

Which you can tell she wants to have for him. But won’t show it. In the panel where she talks about his agency that is very clearly the face of a proud mom. But it’s jus that’s split second then back to uncaring and cold.
