The show gets better. It's the one thing--it gets better every single season and culminates in two of the best episodes OF TELEVISION HISTORY.

Plus, has she betrayed everything she stood for? - she was for a civilized Nassau from the beginning wasn't she? Doesn't the governor's vision match her original or am I misremembering?

this one is hard to rewatch!!vane was my favourite!! for me vane was the truest pirate of them all. all the others have something else that motivates them but he was all about that life, just a real pirate!! i didnt know if i wanted to continue with the show but man...the season finale is soooo good!!one of the best episodes of the show!! and season 4 is even better!!

"Black Sails" first killed Zach McGowan and then he went on to die on The 100, AoS, The Walking Dead. Can't a show just let him live? They did built a couple of ship sets for the show. They were never on the open water tho so the ocean scenes are CGI. They kept them in a giant water tank in Cape Town for filming. "Outlander" (another Starz series) used them for one of their seasons. I guess they remain in Cape Town studios now. And, yes, "Black Sails" is totally better than "Game Of Thrones". 😂 Sorry, Thrones, but it is. It's written more like a novel than a TV series with one long arc in mind. And the writers ended it when they wanted to which is something I've come to appreciate more and more with shows, end while it's good and don't drag it out past the story's natural completion.

Ya the next episode and next season is nuts. This show literally gets better every episode almost. Vane is an amazing character, going from villain in early s1 to top character.

In retrospect Vain was quite a tragic character, was a slave as a child, abandoned Teach to join Elanore only to be screwed over by her multiple times, leaves Teach again to return to Nassau only to be captured trying to help rescue a fellow pirate, dies willfully as a martyr. RIP
