Because it's true. btw, 102-106 is technically filler, but since certain scenes are remebered as flashbacks in 107 maybe you should watch them in your own time, and not upload them. Also, the bird symbolizes freedom - Neji was trapped by his blind belief in fate, but Naruto "freed" him.

filler just means it isn't from the manga. A lot of episodes are mostly cannon with some filler. This episode is mostly canon with some filler comedy/slice of life moments.

glad you guys enjoyed this episode BUUUT i feel like the reason people are telling you guys its a filler is because we can see how antsy you guys are when there's too much dialog and flashbacking and generally no action happening. Trust us we've aaaall been there with this show but you're also powering through it so the long pauses and dialogs and general meandering feels 10x worse. But yeah this is a pretty important character episode. Can't wait for the next arc!!

There’s a short spurt of filler episodes now then the last genuinely important development which takes a little less than a season to finish up then it’s all filler with a handful of enjoyable episodes and arcs but after the Big Sasuke Thing(you’ll know what it is) you can pretty much skip to Shippuden without fear. Although I do hope you’ll at least partake of the Bikoju Beetle Arc because it’s ADORBS

just skip 102-106 actual useless filler. 107-135 and then u can move onto shippuden, theres not even a episodes worth of canon scenes in 136-220 so its all skippable. and the canon stuff that is in it you learn about from the get go in shippuden.

One of the biggest mistery of the show is who are Konohamaru's parents...it's not reveal in the anime and reference like once or twice in the manga...it could be considered spoilers so if you wan to know i can reveal...it's not like it as a big impact on the show...

It seems like a lot of people are disagreeing on the filler thing. Episode 98 is mixed canon and anime original("filler") content. While Episode 99 is more or less entirely anime original, even though it builds upon canon content. As in it wasn't in the manga. Still an important episode. People just don't like to call it "filler" because it's not there to drag out, it's there to flesh out parts of the story. Unlike most other "filler" or "anime original" stuff.

Episode 99 is a total filler skip it. Episode 101 is a comedy filler that is very popular I wouldn’t mind if you react to it honestly. Episodes 102-106 is a mini filler arc that’s kind shitty so skip it. Ep 107 is the new arc 🔥

There are a few Canon/ Filler episode mixes and those tend to be one that everyone is debating to watch or not. Though just wanna say, That Neji scene does have a non symbolic meaning for a future nice setup for the near future, since it kinda confused yall for a bit there. Actually....quite a bit of this scene with the other characters does come up, like Shikamaru's family deer they raise. Nice looking back at this stuff again.

everyone says its been days since the hokage died but i feel like it has been months, since naruto has been training the rasengan. Jiraya's calendar that he had around his neck had like a month of stamps on it. then the full week of mastering the rasengan after they met tsunade. and the trip back to the village. it has definitely not been days.

I'd like to argue that 10% of eipsode 101 is canon because it was an omake that Kishi did! In other words, 101 should be watched. And as far as I know, filler is original anime stuff while canon is manga stuff. The idea that any non action moments/episodes are filler is mind boggling.

I’m happy you enjoyed this episode as much as I did! I love these slice of life, character focused episodes. They build the characters up so we’re more emotionally invested in them. I completely agree with Micky’s definition of a filler where it’s when nothing moves forward in the story or nothing new is revealed about the characters. Here we learn about Konohamaru’s turmoil, Tsunade’s reputation among other Leaf shinobi; we see Neji’s certainty in his ability to count all the birds accurately (which partly derives from his former belief in the inevitability of destiny) challenged again, echoing the outcome of his fight with Naruto; Tsunade heals everyone, there’s a shift in Naruto’s understanding of Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke, Naruto bonds with Iruka as he talks about the state of the village, and we find out about Lee’s grim prognosis. Even if this information could be relayed in the future, making such episodes “unnecessary,” it would be in the form of exposition and it won’t have the same impact as watching it unfold in real time. So while this might not be action packed, these kind of episodes are important in my opinion and I’m glad you’re liking them too. I can only imagine your reactions to 99 and 100!

Some people in the comments are definitely wrong, they're focusing too much on the manga, this one and the next couple are a mix of canon and filler, not all filler is bad. Most filler that people are complaining about come later and don't really add much to any characters, build them or the world and if they do it's very lazily. These episodes are some of the best filler you're going to see for this show, so don't be fooled there will be bad fillers later but these next few are really well done and are mixed with canon anyways. ALSO Nejis scene is to show he has a blind spot both literally and is a metaphor to show he isn't able to see everything, which is what naruto taught him.

Hey Normies, just so you know: regardless of what some fans are saying, episodes 98 and 100 are NOT filler. They each contain about 1.5 chapters-worth of manga content. That's more manga content than plenty of previous episodes in Naruto. For example, there were episodes in the Zabuza arc that covered less than a single chapter. If those episodes aren't "filler", then neither are these.

All I have to say is THANK GOD we're done with the Search for Tsunade arc. Seriously one of my least favorite arcs of the main story. Can't wait for them to get into the next main arc, which is easily one of the best of the entire series

Filler has 2 differences.. Canon filler and Non Canon filler this is a canon filler if Naruto went to another world or if it was like a side mission it would be filler if it doesn't progress the actual story.. 102-106 has messages in them that are important so I would say its partial non canon filler but there were some things that I liked in these episodes

Filler is stuff that fills you in on the smaller details, they can be used for a variety of things, fill you in on certain characters/ provide developement for certain characters/ explain how the character learnt so and so ability, history behind a characters origins mostly not from the main cast but can be, or just for plain entertainment/ or slice of life

Filler is the stuff the anime adds that wasn't in the source material. However there are different types. There's the fillers that expand on canon moments... and then there's the ones that are just tacked on scenes/episodes to make the show longer and allow the manga to move futher ahead.

To say anything that was not in the manga of Naruto means it's skippable in the anime isn't true. It's just that there is filler inside of the expanded canon of the anime. Episodes like these are important, BUT people will tell you to skip them. They consider only what happened in the manga important. This just isn't the case, because this anime is an adaptation of that story. It was never going to be the same.
