I always hated how weak they made Tsunade look in this battle. Even if people wanted use the excuse that she hasn't fought in like a decade, but still a Sannin should be able to easily dispose of someone like Kabuto. As we all know, Kishimoto sucks at writing female characters, but she's still one of my faves.

This is a over reaction. The show is literally telling you that in general she would wipe the floor with him. She’s not even losing because of skill and power but enhancements on Kabuto’s part. Saying he’s bad with female writing in THIS arc is fascinating.

You know, you don't have to address boob jiggles every time they happen. :3 Sometimes it can't be helped how often they're in frame and part of animating boobs is making them jiggle. Cause they do that. Let's just try to ignore it sometimes lol. (It's also kind of weird to constantly hear about boob shots and jiggles from reactors, even more than watching it in an anime. That just tells me that's what you're focused on.) Still love your reactions and can't wait for next week!

Tsunade hasn't fought in almost 20 years plus she wasn't fighting to kill because that first punch she landed would have killed him. Plus, I think he took a pill for energy. None of the Sannin are at their strongest.

People making excuses about how dumb the fight is....when was the last time Sarutobi fought anyone? Yet he was able to go up against two hokage and Orochimaru. Tsunade is a Sannin who is supposed to become hokage. It's a poor showing.

The only reason kabuto fought on par with tsunade was because of drug enhancements and using the fear of blood against her. Once blood is in the mix her fighting skills basically go away. Also, she was on par because PLOT.

Kabuto for all his brains didn't get the intelligence report that Naruto beat Gaara while Sasuke couldn't

Well the 3rd wasn't at his best, because of his age. And Tsunade you could say, when was the last time she fought someone for real? Because of her fear of blood I'm sure she hadn't got into a lot of fights. But also you have to consider this is fairly early on in the series before Kishi figured out how his power scaling worked. Small Spoilers - I mean look at Kakashi early on when he used Mass Shadow Clone Jutsu. Towards the end of the series something like that would almost kill him to do because of the low Chakra he has. So Kishi at this point is still figuring stuff out.

Nah I agree with some, I was annoyed how they portrayed her fighting skills against Kabuto in this episode. I know this episode doesn't encompass ALL of what and how she is as a sannin, but for spoiler purposes I won't say too much. In this episode it didn't give her a good look as a sannin against a jonin even before she got hit with blood. Food pills or not, I thought it was kinda lame. BUT, here's to next week's reactions and more of the sannins!

Kabuto is very smart when it comes to combat and anatomy which gave him an advantage here but I would say that he is still below Kakashi. You have to remember that Tsunade used most of her energy chasing them and attacking with chakra enhanced strength, so she was nowhere near her best when they actually fought and Tsunade was still winning. It was her fear of blood that defeated her. This is early in the series and yet they brought all 3 sanin together, they could not waste these characters here so they made all three of them weekend. Orochimaru got destroyed by Sarutobi, Jiraiya is poisoned an Tsunade is worn out pysically and mentally. So dont take what you see here as a true representation of the sanin.

Kabuto is not as strong as the sannin he’s barely at Kakashi’s level, all three of the sannin are currently weakened orochimaru with his arms, jiraiya with the after effects of the drug, and Tsunade with her fear of blood and the fact that she hasn’t fought in years, Kabuto is also one of the smartest and trickiest fighters in the entire series, fighting him is hard not cuz he’s overwhelmingly strong but because he’s smart and knows how to evade he’s like orochimaru he’s a snake.

This brings back so many memories and some of the earlier games I'm not sure if it was on PlayStation 2 or PSP but I remember playing with Tsunade if you got the special move in for 30 seconds the opponent's controls would be inverted or mixed up.

The first Naruto movie should be watched after this Tsunade arc and before the next and final canon arc - or in other words after 101 and before 107. The first movie takes place before the events of the final Naruto arc. Your perception of the movie will change depending on if you watch it after the final arc or before (and before was when the movie was actually released in theatres in Japan). The other two pre-Shippuden movies take place after the events of the final arc and should be watched after you finish the original series, if there’s any interest to do so.

But remember, Orochimaru said that Itachi is stronger than him and then Itachi said that Jiraiya is on par with him. Jiraiya and Tsunade are suppressed more than Orochimaru for this fight.

as said by many others, tsunade and jiraiya are extrememly weakened here, otherwise kabuto and orochimaru would be dead (full strength orochimaru would put up a fight however but against both of them he'd still lose)

A characters "power level" is only as high as the author thinks it should. That's why a character can dominate when they shouldn't or be much weaker than expected. But yeah, Tsunade used up a lot of stamina, while Kabuto replenished his with pills.

This is not a spoiler. I'm only telling you this because it's really not well explained. Orochimaru's physical arms fine. Sarutobi cut off part of Orochimaru's spirit during that fight. Basically Sarutobi cut off Orochimaru's "spirit arms" if you will, so he can't either move them or push chakra through them. That's why Sarutobi said "you won't be able to perform jutsu", first because he can't make hand signs, but that's not the only reason, he can't even make chakra flow through his arms. So it's assumed even if he were to switch bodies again, in that new body he wouldn't be able to move his arms or perform jutsu anymore. Then again, we don't really know, it's not well explained.

As far as filler content goes, the movies are best to react to since they have solid animation (especially the land of snow movie) but honestly it’s not essential since none of it is relevant to the actual plot. A lot of the time filler contradicts the actual plot and characterization, like two characters who normally barely interact might suddenly be best friends, then in the actual canon they’re back to not talking. Btw - the kakashi’s true face episode is based off of an extra that the guy who wrote Naruto made himself, so it’s not really a filler, just a breather episode.
